We recently stayed here for a night. We are a group of 10 adults and 3 toddlers between the age of 1-6yrs of age and we booked the 3-storey property. Overall, we don't have much to complain about the property as with every homestay we have stayed at, you can't expect it to be in tip top condition as wear and tear are bound to show. My only requirement is that it must be clean. But here's a tip to protect yourself. Although you may not have super high expectation, you should still protect yourself as a damage deposit is required which I wasn't aware until we checked out. A friend in the group was the one who booked this place. RM200 damage deposit to be bank transferred during check-in and was told that it will be returned upon check-out. Upon check-out, she was instead informed that it will be returned within 3 days after inspection. My friend requested on the spot inspection but was refused. While driving back to KL, she received a message to say that one of the table had a damaged drawer, long story short... arguments went back and forth before she finally received her deposit 2 days later. This experience dampened whatever mood we had from this trip. So in future this reminds us to take photo of every single defects/dirt you see upon check-in and best to inform the host/management from the start. Other than this issue we had, this property is of value for a big group as it had enough rooms for all of us at a...
Read moreCheck in was tedious - required you to go to a separate address to check in before you obtain the key to apartment.||We booked for an apartment for 7 adults and the set up was 2 bedrooms with double beds x 2 in each room. ||Bathrooms x 2 - clearly not properly cleaned - back of doors dirty (very). Had to ask for provision of bath towels and floor mats; no hand towels included in the set up. A servicing staff came soon after to delivery these provisions. Nice staff but I would like to question the more senior level of management on their quality assurance standards.||Kitchen - it's so inadequate that we would not be able to cook a simple meal with that little bench-top cooking appliance. ||Furniture - Inadequate chairs for an apartment that is set up apparently for 8 persons.||Prices and experience - Our previous experience of airbnb had been so positive that this booking in Melaka was very inferior, and prices were comparable.||Decorations - empty picture frames dotted the walls. ||Atlantis where the apartments are - a big challenge to negotiate the poorly design car parks. ||False ratings - it says 9 on the website, with 'Very Clean' texts. I would rate this kindly at...
Read moreIf everything is as I booked, I would have given it 5 stars. I know this is a CHEAP/affordable accommodation. We only had 2 nights here as a stop over. This accommodation is a couple of Attached Terraces turned into separate apartments.
Let's start with what's right:
Easy location (away from busy places)
relatively new building
affordable
polite staff (though speaks little English) - I don't speak Malay
amenities ( free wifi, coffee/tea etc)
Now what's wrong:
I think it is the owner who checked me in, not much of a communicator
we are on 1st floor, we had a family with young children stomping all night till late on 2nd floor (1st night)
Big rowdy party on adjacent building till late (2nd night)
noticed the toilet flushed slow and the staff came up with a mop to try to clear it. Needless to say, IT DIDN'T WORK. We had to endure with the non-functional toilet throughout our stay.
Half eaten door frame (by termites)
Well good luck to those who book next. I wouldn't be back nor...
