🍲 Yeon Cafe – Looks Classy, Tastes… Debatable From the outside, Yeon Cafe gives off a classy, polished vibe. They offer a variety of set lunches, so I decided to give it a go and ordered the Spicy Seafood Sundubu-jjigae (Korean soft tofu stew) with a hot tea. 。 Let’s break it down: 🔸 Spicy Seafood Sundubu-jjigae Despite the name, the stew wasn’t spicy at all. When I asked if it could be spicier, the staff explained that this was the typical Korean level of spice. They did offer some spice powder—but honestly, it didn’t do much to enhance the flavor. . 🔸 Seafood Quality? Technically, yes—it had seafood. But everything tasted frozen, not fresh. Maybe that’s standard practice here, but it didn’t elevate the dish. . 💸 Price vs Quality A lot of others have commented on the high price point. Terrible experience – ruined a special occasion

I would NOT recommend Yeon Cafe in Melaka. My wife planned a surprise birthday cake celebration for me here, expecting excellent cakes and service (as they are supposedly known for). However, the service was beyond disappointing.

The waiter messed up two of our orders—a drink and a cake. While mistakes happen, what followed was unacceptable. The waiter apologized and offered to give us another cake (the original one we ordered) on the house as compensation. We appreciated the gesture, but shortly after, the same waiter came back and demanded payment for the so-called “FOC” cake!

It completely ruined the mood of the celebration. Such unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability are unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that prides itself on service.

This is a happening cafe even on a weekday on non meal time. If you want to work here, there's plugpoint but be prepared that the surrounding might be noisy due to people taking and coffee making sound.

That aside, I like the pastry section and the deco/ambience of the shop that felt really nice and comfortable

I had their m.yeon set with soy chicken. The whole set was comforting although it doesn't 100% felt authentic Korean but decent meal;)))

The top items were cheesecakes and brownies but I dnt quite enjoy the brownies. Depends on your taste tubs
