We stayed for 2 nights (group of family). We booked the whole house unit and paid rm5500 for 2 nights stay during the weekends.
The love:- many rooms & spacious! Its great for a big family trip. But no dining table indoor. Dining table is outside the house. The landscaping is beautiful esp at night, beautiful garden n plants. The most beautiful area in the house is the pool area surrounded by plants. Kids truly loveee the place. They have space to roam around & they swam for hours in the pool. Pre installed netflix at tv. Comfy beds at the room i stayed ie 618. Had a really good sleep.
The not so some of the facilities and furnitures could really be changed eg the lounge sofa near karaoke machine (the leather is torn so can see the sponge inside), bean bags that hv seen better days and dated sofa at the living room. Some of the items in the house are not working eg, one ceiling fan at living room, and the microwave. Cctv installed at the living room, and some other parts of the house including pool area. However, we requested for the host to turn off the cctv at the living room for privacy reasons and she allowed it. Remotely/timer controlled lighting by host at certain area eg main lights at living room. my view is that once the place is rented (we rented whole unit), the guests should have flexibility of what lights to be on, for many reasons be it safety, preference etc. Due to the controlled setting, i could not open the main lights at the living room myself that morning arnd 640 am, only managed to have it turned on after messaging the host and she turns it on remotely. After one night, room no 611 had an electric tripped at 827 am. The on site housekeeper came but was unable to fix the issue. so the host had to came in during our stay with electricians around noon to fix it which was a bit of an inconvenience for us to have ppl around for repairs during our supposedly leisure stay. On same day, at 745 pm, the living room main lights were off suddenly while we are just resting at the living room. Had to msg host again and get housekeeper to help resolve it. Luckily as housekeeper was on site, it was resolved pretty fast.
Despite the issues, id still recommend the place for big family trip as its not easy to find a big private place with many rooms & a nice pool for kids to enjoy; but hope they can improve the issues highlighted and spruce up the interiors (ie living room & kitchen especially) of the house fit to the price charged.
But i have to compliment the host’s friendliness and warmth, host was very responsive and responsible and has tried to resolve all the issues we highlighted during our stay especially the electric trip. Thank you so much for your speedy replies to...
Read moreI AM VERY REGRET AND FRUSTRATING WITH THIS PLACE, THE WORST HOMESTAY EVER!!! I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!!
I would like to share my horrible experience with this homestay, which I found to be overpriced and not worth the cost at all!!!
The sofa and bedsheets were filthy and in poor condition, leading to an allergic reaction that I suspect was due to dust mites.
The customer service via WhatsApp was incredibly rude and not professional from the start. When I attempted to negotiate the price, the representative dismissively replied, "It's okay, next time," when I asked for a discount. On the day of check-in at 1 PM, I was informed that the karaoke service would not be available due to it being broken. Initially quoted RM200 for my two-night stay, I requested a discount since the karaoke was only available for one day. The customer service then twisted the narrative, claiming they had forgotten to charge me and that the actual rate was RM200 per night. When I inquired about a possible discount for the karaoke, the representative abruptly asked, "So you want it or not?"
The BBQ machine was broken, and I was directed to use one located beside the cleaner's room, which was rusted and unusable. There was no dining table inside the house; the only table was outside next to the broken BBQ.
The electricity was controlled by the owner through a smart Wi-Fi system, which was incredibly inconvenient. The living room lights were locked at night, requiring me to contact the owner to turn them on. Additionally, the electricity would automatically shut off at 10 PM.
The swimming pool was in a deplorable state, with slightly green water that looked uninviting.
Overall, my experience at this homestay was very wasting my time and money, and I would not recommend it...
Read moreWhat i like about Kontor is the bed being value for money.
Kontor is German for house. Don't mistake it for Kotor ya.
Service: The host was responsive and gave options on dining in Kuantan. It was an awkward first encounter as the facility did not have any signage to indicate that it is a facility for patrons. Once that was sorted, we built mutual trust.
Location: (1) Of the many eclectic homestays in Kuantan which provide plush 5star bedding comfort, I think you can like this very much. The sea breeze sent its extras over the hill from Teluk Chempedak. So you pretty much know that you are quite close to the ocean. (2) Parking was on-street, and one needs to be careful not to leave any valuables in the vehicle. (3) I got what i term as the owner's younger brother unit downstairs by the door. Which is great for one who is in town for business. Parking hardly 10m away clearly beat any hotel parking. (4) No food onsite, but if you turn right on the main road, you have options at Telok Chempedak and Jalan Teluk Sisek.
Pricing. Clearly value for money. Why? The comfortable bed. clean bathroom (a bit dated). the bath gel and shampoo hygienically accessible. wifi is strong for netflix and youtube. If you arrive during the day, a dip in the pool would...
