Overview: RM25 adult tickets. Decent getaway in Kuantan with family and kids. Next to Pantai Teluk Sisik and RPGC.
Pros: Parking plenty across entrance and next to the beach, but require few min walk with no pedestrian walkway. OKU parking available. Toilets are clean, soap provided and generally well maintained. Some food stalls for snacks provided with plenty of seats and shade. Playgrounds for children. The main building housing the dinosaur exhibits and gift shop is pleasant and air-conditioned. A hobbit house replica is a nice touch. The attendants were polite and helpful. Overall the zoo is clean and in good condition.
Cons: The whole dinosaur theme is poorly executed. Animatronics while a novel idea, is nothing more than a gimmick for fleeting insta posts. There is little to no attempt for edutainment. Even the very first T-rex exhibit is clearly just a copy paste article broken into tiny tiny fonts with simple graphics, disjointed points and typos. The universities endorsing this exhibit should be ashamed to be associated with this. For additional RM14 you can participate in interactive digital games which personally did not look worth the extra cost, though might be fun for kids. The zoo itself is another level of disappointment. Most of the animals from 2019 seems to have been made way for more dinosaur and animal animatronics, which is ridiculous considering the main attractions to a zoo should be live animals. The most exotic animals were the gibbon and crocs which really says a lot about the zoo. There were literal cows and chickens on display. Plus the design layout is a huge mess, no signs or guides anywhere, animatronics haphazardly placed in the oddest locations (the panda for example was placed next to a huge sump pit). The dinosaur show is neither educating nor entertaining, the presenter focused on inane habits of the T-Rex. There was no flow nor story or sense to the show, ending with overpowering songs for a photoshoot with more animatronics. Easily covered the whole zoo within an hour. Overpriced food goes without saying.
Conclusion: RM25 is highly overpriced, especially comparing to similar places for the same value such as the KL Bird Park. Think of it as a park which happens to have animals on display in it. Would not recommend unless you really have a lot of money and...
Read moreZoo Teruntum offers a unique experience, but it may not align with the typical expectations of a zoo. Rather than a traditional zoological park, it feels more like a scenic stroll through a landscaped park with sculptures and a handful of domestic animals. While the idea is appreciated, especially for families and casual visitors, the overall experience feels more like a repurposed land project with limited resources.
The animatronic dinosaurs are a fun concept and do catch the eye, but their placement could be improved to create a more immersive and engaging environment. A more vibrant and dynamic setting would help spark curiosity and enhance the storytelling aspect of the park. At present, the initial excitement at the entrance isn’t quite matched by what’s found inside.
It's clear that efforts have been made, and I do support local attractions like this. However, there’s definitely room for improvement. With thoughtful enhancements, better curation, and perhaps a slightly higher ticket price, this space could become a truly worthwhile destination. Malaysians are more than willing to support local initiatives—as long as the experience delivers on value and wonder.
There’s great potential here. With some refinements and a stronger focus on unique animal exhibits and engaging environments, Zoo Teruntum could evolve into something special for both locals and...
Read moreFees as per below:- Adult : RM29 per entry Children : RM26 per entry (if below 5 yo enjoy free entrance fee) All fees not included with games/ entertainments fee; immerse explorer and t-rex cage ya.
For me I would say that, not much living animals here. Only excited on robotics dinasours. 🤔 No petting zoo, so my kids can't enjoy too much 😪, actually they expecting to feed the real animals closely. Since the real animals not so much. My kids learnt a bit about the dinasours.
In the future, I would suggest that the entrance fee for t-rex cage and immerse explorer to be included in the existing fees, so more people can enjoyed and feel the place is worth it to be visited. Or else, they can provide interactive 3D section for offering optical illusions to the customer who visited there. Just my 2cents. ✌
Foods and drinks which sell inside the cafe were expensive, they charged wonda coffee for RM5 per can and mineral water for rm3 per bottle.
So thanks to Mini Zoo Teruntum & Dinasour Encounter, Kuantan for the...
