First the info about the guesthouse and in the end I will write some tips you need to know about the island !!||We got a tripple room for 60 rm a night for 5 nights.||Nothing wrong with that price. The room is big with 1 double and 1 single bed.||Comfy mattress. Room comes with a/c. 1 table and no other furniture.||Att. Bathroom with cold shower and western style toilet.||The cabin have a little porch with 2 chairs.||The guesthouse(with 6 to 8 rooms) is 100 meters from the beach in a little street full of other guesthouses.||No street noise at all so you will have a good night sleep if your neighbours are quiet.||The questhouse don’t have a restaurant or sell any food or drinks.||You can use their fridge, washing machine for free. And you can refill purified water.||You can boil water for tea or coffee. The woman who owns the place is real friendly||||So why did I gave 2 stars (I wanna give 1 or two !)||- At first the owner and website said you can take coffee and tea for free. But in the six days we where there they only refill the empty tea and coffee box on the 6th day.||- The outlet from the a/c comes directly in the bathroom. 2 meters high. So if you wanna go to the toilet you have to pass that outlet and you get wet from the water which fall down. I don’t know why he did it like that. (see photo)||- The toilet is on a little ridge. 10 cm above the showerfloor. That’s ok if everything worked good. But I didn’t. The toilet and the hose where leaking a lot of water. And because there is no drain In the floor the water couldn’t go anywhere. So all those 6 days there was 2 cm of water in the toilet area. And the drainage in the shower didn’t work that well either. Most times there was 2 to 3 cm of water there. So every time you go to the toilet you have to pass two floors with water and a leaking a/c hose. Not good….. ||- We told the staff and the owner about the leaking toilet and hose. They promised to fix it but they didn’t. And I have read this problem in earlier reviews so it is there a long time. The owner just do nothing about it.||- The bedsheets are clean but the pillows are horrible. I think they never cleaned them. The towel they provide are full of stains and holes but washed so you can use them. (1 time we got brand new ones btw.)||- Another big problem in the cabins are the holes in the floor and ceiling. The floorboards are not close enough to each other so there are big holes. We had a lot of cockroaches (big ones) and mozzies in the room. No mozzy nets. We think they have to us them because there are to many mosquito’s in the room. We had our own nets but there was nothing in the room we could use to attach them and we didn’t want to put screws in the ceiling. So we sprayed every day a few times with baycon. But even then we had a lot of mozzy bites each morning. ||- The walls between the cabins are paper thin. You can hear your neigbours talking and they can hear you.||- The owner gave us not enough or bad info about busses and timetables. So in the end we have to find out everything by ourself. I shall not write down all the details but that kind of info must be good. I think, because you are on an island, the owner must provide good info about possibilities of public transportation, timetables, and so on. And they know it is very hard to get a bus ticket in the weekend. So why don’t you tell your quests before? The most info we get from other travelers in the guesthouse.||||So why didn’t we leave … it is still not a bad option although we would not came back again. There are better options for the same amount of money.||||TIPS:||||Pulau Pangkor is very quiet in midweek and very busy in the weekend. When we arrived during midweek it was quiet and clean on the beaches. In the weekend a lot of people there. Just ok but, as in the most parts of Asia, they make a mess of everything. Everywhere you look dipers, empty bottles, food, papers, plastic, and so on. I could not believe the transformation of this clean beach to a trashpile. You can not compare the island of Malaysia to any island of Thailand. Most of Malaysia’s beaches are like this. I prefer beaches and island in Thailand after I have been on both.||||Other thing you need to know is that it is almost not possible to get a busticket in the weekend (or Monday) to penang or KL. The locals booked there tickets when they arrive. So when you are on the island you can go to 1 agent in pangkor city where you can book a ticket (direct) to KL. 1 bus departs at 10 am and 1 at 3.30 pm. That’s it. And they are fully booked in no time. So if you wanna leave by bus book a seat when you arrive in Lumut or when you arrive at pangkor.||||If you wanna travel from Penang to Lumut you can take a direct bus. We missed that one and they told us to go to Ipoh and take the bus to pangkor from there. They said that every hour there is a bus from Ipoh to Lumut ….. that’s NOT true. We arrived at 0.30 pm at Ipoh. Next bus to Lumut 4:30 pm. ||Ipoh – Lumut is a 2 hour drive. Bus 15 rm and taxi 100 to 120 rm||||Ferry ticket lumut – pangkor is 10 rm. And it is both way so keep the ticket with you.||Taxibusses on pangkor are 15 rm to...
Read moreDon't go there. I had the worse experience as they stole my wallet! Do not trust them and don't leave anything in your room. We came there with my friends, 4 of us. We were getting set up as we arrived in the rooms. I left my room to see my sister's room while my friend stayed in our room. Then I came back to my room and couldnt find my wallet. My friend said the guy from the reception took something, said it was a receip so my friend let him, he was not paying attention. So I went to find that reception guy and he said his boss has it. I told him to bring it back cause it s mine and no one is supposed to take something from me in my own room. Then he took his scooter and brought my wallet with my credit card in it only. All of my cash was missing. Tried to tell him that and then he starts saying that my friend gave me the wallet in the room. Then he takes me to '' his boss '' and tell him that he didn't do anything and that my friend gave me the wallet. Then his '' boss'', who is actually his father but i learnt that after, got so hungry at me for '' lying '' as he thinks i am responsibke for them stealing my wallet. The guy was getting violent. I learnt after that the reception boy lied to his father about stealing my wallet. Surreal story. It ended with me insisting on getting my cash back but they just reimbursemed us and we left. We ended up finding a great hotel just further in that street. This is unbelievable to see how disrespectful these people were. This is by far the worst experience I had travelling...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights and had a great time in pangkor. The accommodation at intan beach resort is perfect for budget travelers. You can use their washing machine which is absolutely briliant. There is wifi at the reception and you can fill your bottle with drinking water from their reservoir so you don't have to buy it. ||The rooms were clean, the sheets especially. Well, i inly gave it a 4 in cleanliness because our toilet disn't flush properly. The owner said that he will have to repair it blabla, but he disn't which was then a bit disgusting.. ||We had seen a lot worse places, so it was really okay. Just as a headsup: there are little holes in the floor and in the wall, so insect - especially our best friends the mosquitos- have an easy time coming in and feast.. ||What concens service, i gave it a 3, because there was rarely somebody around so we couldn't approach anyone when we had a problem or a question. ||All in all, I can really recommend this place if your accomm. Should be clean and affordable. (we only...
