OMG Hotel Simpang Ampat — Hotel in Penang

Receptionist: The receptionist was rude. Treated me like I am stupid and making faces when she asked for rm2 for tourist fee and I said I didn’t have it. Started making faces while counting balance money and coins until I suggested to transfer the rm2 through QR pay instead.

I read through online reviews about this hotel before I decided to book it and also saw few comments saying that the receptionist was rude to them.

Room: Room is excellent, spacious although the one I got is nothing like the pictures shown. Bed is okay, comfortable to sleep, and they complied to my special requests.

Price: Price is cheap, deposit is also cheap. Good bargain.

Place: Place is strategic. But last night when I slept, there were noises outside, someone was banging on the electric poles or traffic barriers outside. It lasted for 10 minutes at 2AM. I suspect that it was from the foreigners loitering outside since there are dorms nearby this hotel.

Worst Ever. I checked in on 15/9/22 tot stay few hour and depart to Thailand next morning. Rude and bad reception ladies ( I’m not sure is lady or ladyboy) , has been change 2 room (1 bed only felt bed spring + 2 nd room hotel door can’t open ) until 3rd room the situation still not change. We stay 5th floor at the end , most terrible is one of Indian ladies shout loud until I’m awake , I’m dare not open the room door and not even see what happens outside , room without phone and not able to connect to reception as well . I’m whole night never sleep and sit till 6:30am until to weak my husband up and check out . I know I can’t expect more because is budget hotel but I felt get cheat while check in because the real room totally different with the online picture. I pay RM134 and not sleep only seat whole night till morning. I’ll log a report in consumer court to make sure no other victim in next. Please stay away for this hotel...

I had a bad experience with this hotel management. I booked room for 1 night at this hotel and i booked a deluxe king in agoda applications. In the applications i also requested 1 large bed instead of 2 single bed. Upon arrival at the counter. The receptionist named Alice was so rude when communicating with me as if im staying in the hotel for free! Then she mentioned i will be staying in a 2 single bed room. Then i informed her that in agoda i booked 1 deluxe king room and guess what was her reply? “If you not prefer to stay in the room you may leave”! Im like wow. But since its already 11pm and i cant find another hotel i stayed there for a night. The bed was so bad, water pressure is slow. This will be my last visit to this hotel. My rating for this hotel is 1/5 for hospitality 0/5. And another thing, only this hotel charged me extra 2 bucks as government tax. Is there any extra tax we need to pay to the state government or...
