I was one of the attendees for the TRAC MSF camp stay held between Oct 07-10 2025 Tuesday to Friday |It was enjoyable and comfortable stay in GKH. Rooms were spacious and room housekeeping and staff hospitality were great . Food served during breakfast lunch and dinner were reasonably okay. |However there are some areas for improvement which I would to like to highlight here.||1. The swimming pool there was rather dirty seems like never been clean properly. There were specks of whitish stuff and tiny straw like substance in the water for both the adult and the children pool. Did inform the maintenance staff to clean on the first day there but the 2nd day still the same and informed them again . Do not know if it was clean properly as did not use it on the 3rd day.|2. the buffet breakfast and lunch and Chinese gala dinner provided during that period was reasonably good but the quantity is rather lacking . The gala Chinese dinner was tailored to be just enough for a table of 10 hardly allowing for a little bit extra. The buffet breakfast and lunches were rather not enough especially for the main dishes like chicken fruits and dessert and certain vegetables . The buffet are supposed to start from 07.00 am to 08.30 am for breakfast and from 12.00 pm to 1.30 pm for lunch . But going into the first 35 mins or so for both meals those dishes are already finishing not making allowance for those who might come in a bit late. There should be some form of replenishment some quantity perhaps .||However having said this the buffet lunch on the last day was enough and there was no need for replenishment as a fair number of delegates of total 212 people has already left giving rise to the fact that estimation of food quantity in the earlier meals were rather underestimated ||I hope you all can be mindful of improving all this for future stay for churches...

It's probably the best hotel to consider if you're traveling to Kampar, Perak township. It's located nearby to Gua Tempurung & Gopeng. However, it is a quiet town, nothing much happening or to be expected.

I've stayed for a night in their Standard Deluxe twin sharing single bedroom. Pricing wise was decently fair, not too expensive. It comes with basic amenities such as towels, refreshments (coffee/tea/bottled mineral water), toiletries, & there's also a mini fridge if you wishes to utilize it.

For entertainment, they provide cable TV services with various local channels. Their TV set is probably one of the oldest like it is from the year 2000's. I assume they maintain it the way to look more classic. There's also WiFi network available, however, the signal is somewhat average.

As for comfort wise, the bed linen is soft & clean. I like the flooring wooden tiles, it has a modern asthetic feel & quite comfortable to even sat on the floor. In the bathroom, there's a bathtub with hot/cold shower. On the other hand, I feel the air-conditioning is faulty. Prepare to be frozen while you're sleeping, even when I switched the temperature up to 30° Celsius. It still feels like 16°. Good thing during the hot sunny afternoon, not so much on a colder evening.

My room comes with breakfast which is from 7.30am to 10.00am. Not buffet, only Ala Carte. It could be due to the cheaper booking I had.

Overall, I rate the accomodation 4 out of 5 stars given the comfort & location the hotel provides. I recommend a night or two if you're visiting Kampar, Perak. Hope my review was helpful to your...

This place has definitely seen better days. Cleanliness is not there. First room we checked in had dust all over, the kettle and glasses were coated with dust! They were quick to respond and change the kettle and glasses. Rooms are run down. Pillows are flat, mattress is hard and not comfortable. Second room, had to call housekeeping to clean up the floor and table tops, the Aircon does not work properly, it was freezing, when asked for extra blankets to keep warm they had the temerity to say they will charge extra for it. Had to call in maintenance. Now it feels a bit stuffy! TV has nothing much to view. Bathroom has no bathtub. When you shower, the water does not drain off and pools on the floor flooding your feet. Yucks! Plus point, at least got nice sunset view and large spacious room. Would have been better viewif windows were cleaner😔

Breakfast is ok.😊 White bread, porridge, nasi lemak, some noodle, salad, cereal, half boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, two type of cut fruit, black coffee, black tea, cordial orange juice. When asked for fried eggs, they say don't have. When asked for hot milk for coffee , they shake their head again and say don't have. What is so difficult to heat up some milk in the microwave to keep your guest happy so that we can have a nice cup of hot coffee? Not everyone can take creamer, you know.

Won't be staying here again that's for sure although location of this hotel is central, near restaurants, minimarkets Econsave, Tin mine muzium, McD etc. We have stayed here many times over the years but this is it. Maintenance...

Came for a 4D 3N meeting. Room was spacious. Cleanliness is just ok. Old room. The toilet drain has a old drainage smell that really is uncomfortable. We had a room with tub. But, due to the smelly drainage we didn't even feel like using the tub. The water pressure was high. It felt good until on 3rd day of stay, the water hose in toilet cracked and the water sprayed all over. The TV is old school. We love it since it's rare. Then, once we turned it open, there was a high pitch sound we can't bare and had to turn it off. Really sad. We planned to go to the pool but since we can't access Rooftop by lift due to event, we had to cancel as my roommate is pregnant and climbing 3 steep flight of stairs seems inconvenient. But, all the downsides is covered by THE WONDERFUL FOOD they served! 🎊🎉 Kid you not, the food throughout the stay was DIVINE! WE LOVE IT! No wonder locals love to come for dine in here. The Nasi Lemak for breakfast was sooo goodddd! The milkshakes, too, were splendid! If you are a foodie, you may opt to stay here. But keep a blind eye on the room 🤭

Awarded as city best hotel, Grand Kampar Hotel , beautiful Spanish architecture and situated in the hub of Taman Bandar Baru Kampar. The hotel highlight would be the staffs and Covid SOP's. The staffs are highly accomodative and attentive to their customer. SOP was impressive great for 3 star hotel as they strictly adhere with current hotel regulation. Pricing wise was decently fair with basic amenities (TV, hot shower, tea/coffee etc) Toilet comes with bathtub, water heather hairdryer, in house phone, soaps & etc. Bed linen was soft and clean. Centralised aircond and view are either city /hotel backyard. Free parking around the corner. Rooftop pool are available and they have 2 restaurant with Malay & Chinese cuisine with reasonable price too. Due to SOP, breakfast are ala carte from 7.30am to 10.00am. They extended time to 1030 am due to long queue this time. Take away also available. Time to time promotions are available. Love the quiet ambience, neat and clean preserved with friendly staff.
