I came here with high expectations after seeing it mentioned online, but left wondering if I had walked into the wrong place.
The laksa was, unfortunately, one of the weakest I’ve had in Perak. The broth felt diluted, the noodles were limp, and oddly enough it was served on a plate instead of a bowl — which made the portion look especially small compared to what you’d get in Kuala Sepetang or Taiping.
The service experience was also puzzling. A fellow customer asked about prawn sauce, which in most northern Perak shops comes complimentary. The response given was so vague that the customer seemed to think it would cost extra and declined. I later discovered a bottle of it was already sitting there, which just made the whole thing feel confusing.
The ice kacang didn’t fare better — more sugary syrup than actual flavor, with condiments so scarce they could be counted on one hand. No trace of corn, barely any cincau, and hardly any creaminess from santan or milk.
As for the kangkong sotong, the RM10 price felt hard to justify given the modest portion — it was mostly kangkong with a token scattering of sotong. I’ve had roadside nasi lemak packets that felt more generous.
Overall, I suspect this place gets a lot of traction from social media buzz, since I noticed many out-of-town cars. But if you’re chasing genuine flavor or value, there are far stronger options in Perak. This one just didn’t deliver for me.
Read moreGlad to find this laksa stall again. They used to be at a different location before moving to be home based. I personally like their laksa as you wouldn’t get thirsty after you eating like others stall. We also ate the sotong kangkong and ABC. Like the special sauce on the sotong kangkong, would have prefer more peanut topping. Also if the ABC can add more syrups 😆! The owner is very friendly, places is very clean and no problem...
