In La Paz last week. For a small town, this is a good hotel and will definitely return when in La Paz again. Only 1 name brand hotel in La Paz and located almost off the grid. Will cost 5 dollars each way Uber.
Pros. Rooms.were decent sized. We had 2 full-size beds. There was a small table and a chair. Right outside our room was a bistro style table and chairs. The sink was in the room outside the bathroom which was convenient. A ceiling fan kept room temp comfortable even when it was 80 degrees outside. Room also had AC but not used.
Bfast. Probably the best part of stay. Cooked to order local omelets, 2 choices of cereal, bread, PB & J and butter. Milk, coffee, and OJ, also. Simple spread but sufficient. Plenty of seating.
Amenities. Pool looked great. Local murals made the property looked awesome. Also, native plants like flowering cactus, palms, and bougainvilleas, added to local feel.
Service. House staff and front desk all did great. One of the co-owners, Ricardo, was present everyday and had spot on advice on local restaurants, markets, and other local information. There was a community fridge, table, and filtered water dispenser.
Location. Walkability is good. I read that most everything in La Paz is walking dustance. True of this hotel. 5 minutes from the start of Malecon. 2 minutes from Claro, an awesome local seafood restaurant. There is an Oxxo convenience store, 7 min walk. When we did Uber it, we paid around 3 dollars.
Wifi was strong in the room and the breakfast area.
Cons. It is a local hotel. Don't expect Hilton type amenities nor service. La Paz charm is not being Cabo and this is THE attraction.
Bathroom. Hot water shower is hit and miss. You have to be patient and work with it. Probably not a priority during summer.
Furnishings are all local. Not 5 star but they do the job.
Outside noises were audible but not a bother. I actually slept really good for my 4 nights in La Paz. Maybe this was part of the charm.
Dust. There seems to be dust everywherebin La Paz. The road outside the hotel was unpaved or not maintained well by the city.
This hotel embodies La Paz. Awesome people, small town feel, and very warm...
Read moreGreat little hotel off the beaten path but 10 minute walk to Malecón. Corner stores, lots of restaurants and pharmacy 2 minutes away.
Quaint little courtyard with a cute pool (very cold but perfect for a cold plunge or morning wake up)
Very loud in lower level rooms. Free breakfast starts service at 6am and you can hear the kitchen open. Had some screaming children around 7am but that’s not the hotels fault.
The breakfast ladies and house keepers were SO lovely and happy. Abraham and the other gentleman at front desk were awesome as well. Bikes available for loan as well.
Extremely clean!! Didn’t see any bugs or ants. Communal kitchen kept clean by other guests and a great hidden rooftop with ocean views, hammocks and a sunset
Felt very safe 2 women travelling, the door has a lock feature to tighten or loosen and the hotel has a huge gate to be buzzed in after 6pm. Rooms were small but clean, beds on the harder side but all and all a great quiet...
