Pros: - Every room is a ocean view, super clean, and we placed our suitcases inside the closet. It was so easy to keep the room clean. - Food is phenomenal (beat out a Michelin ---- Bib we visited on a night out from the resort) Very clean - Great cafe on site that makes better coffees than brand name coffee shops. Beautiful sandwiches and desserts to snack on. - The views from the pool area are jaw dropping, and pictures don't do it justice - Friendly, hard working staff. If you ask they will do everything they can to accommodate you. - Allergy/ diet conscious sensitive - Lots of fun activities during the day, and wonderful entertainment in the evenings - Most of the beach is not swimmable (like most of Los Cabos), there is a 10 min walk to a swimmable beach that they offer daily. - Slippers and robes provided in the room - Delicious snacks, and refrigerated beverages restocked daily. Pringles, doritos and some other local brands of cookies and granola bars - Art walk on Thursdays with Jarred and Johny is fun. - Activities staff is friendly and super kind. They all work hard and do a great job. - Amazing bar, with a really great mixology course. - Stairs and elevators - Fresh juices available around the pool Cons: These are all very small things and affected our trip minimally: - Drinks around the pool weren't consistent. One day they were out of this world, other days they were so so and over sweet. - The website needs to be updated. It would be great to give a run down of what exactly is included in the rooms etc.. I would have packed differently. - The toiletries are okay, I would bring my own shampoo and conditioner next time - The blow dryer is okay - The room turnovers were inconsistent. Sometimes perfect, sometimes things weren't replaced. Tips: - Book your restaurants in the apps 2 weeks before your stay. If you don't get an invite for this, send them an email. - Get your drinks from the bar upstairs for an upscale experience. - If you are missing something, don't hesitate to ask. They are lovely at this location. If they forget, give them a gentle reminder, it gets busy and they are human. - Do a tour the day you get there. If you need to access the spa or gym you have to use the elevator - Get up really early to get a prime pool bed. People wake up at 5am, and reserve pool chairs with towels. - Bring mosquito repellant for evening - Bring a light jacket/ shawl for evenings - Canto Del Mar was worth the add on price. Food was delicious. - Save your appetite for the restaurants Suggestions for the Hotel: - Have someone monitor/check people in to use pool beds. If guests are not there for more than 3 hours, perhaps clear the spot for someone who can enjoy the space. Some people would reserve the best spots and be there for 2 hours out of the whole day. I understand this could be tough to do. For the price we were very happy with what we got. Some of the other reviews make no sense to me, as 90% of the time things were excellent. Special shout outs: Angelica at the Vistas Bellenas was such a lovely person to see first thing in the morning. She remembered our names! Angel at Dos Mares. He served us on Christmas Eve and it was perfection. He helped accommodate some food restrictions and made sure we were comfortable. He explained all the food items in detail and paced everything perfectly between courses and clearing our plates. The entire entertainment team. The manager was awesome (I don't remember his name)! Esmeralda, Johny, Angelo, and Jarred were really great hosts, and one of the reasons I will be returning. They were high energy and helped break up the days of lounging around the pool. I don't usually do activities, but I like what they had planned. The lady working at the coffee shop was also phenomenal, I didn't get her name, but all beverages were incredible and she was always so kind and thoughtful. Norma, one of the concierge's was exceptional in helping us coordinate our stay. All in all this is a really great resort. Book your restaurants in advance, and get to the pool early to find a good spot.

We had a fantastic time here. We were greeted warmly by the receptionist team. We ordered the master suite which has a private shallow pool and jacuzzi tub. They have a wifi everywhere and give you a QR code when you arrive. The QR code is key to download a specific app which has a map, the activities, order early breakfast two days ahead, and book restaurants. We personally booked restaurants a week ahead prior to arrival with their concierge team. Breakfast buffet is amazing with lots of selection. The one thing we have to adjust to is the Mexican time for service. Their turnaround time to seat new guests are very quick. However, their serving time for food and drinks, you have to wait and adjust to it. Not like Canada where everything is really fast. A bit of a culture shock cause I thought we were the last to be served for the first day and wondered if it was discrimination at the suspiro bar because we ordered non alcoholic drinks. But by the second day I realized it’s just the way things are. Just take a breath, they will come to you and be prepared to order everything if you want fast service otherwise you’re waiting until the next time they come round for the next course. The menus are on their app but not always. They do have physical menus. I ordered ceviche every day for lunch cause it was so delicious. If you’re a ketchup with eggs in the morning type of person, consider bringing your own ketchup. If you’re a Coke Zero lover, they don’t have it at this resort. You do have to wake up early to reserve the ocean viewing spots/beach chairs. If you don’t care for that, there are always chairs available but further out. Housekeeping came twice a day sometimes which was a lot. Separate guy who stocked the mini bar so we left tips for both. They have staff serving you at the beach chairs, again adjust to slower times, but they can serve you lunch and drinks at your chair. Staff speak English and Spanish for the most part. We watched the fire show and acrobatics show so if you don’t reserve dinner at their restaurants, you can eat at their buffet and watch a show or eat at their restaurant and go watch the show after. Spots to sit are first come first serve. Not a swimmable beach but you can see whales and Manta rays daily. The entertainment group during the day do archery, rifle shooting, and other fun activities and if you win, you win a prize which can include a free day pass to their spa for hydrotherapy. They also offered tours sometimes for $20usd a person which isn’t advertised on their site. I wish I knew that. It was on the same night as hibachi at the Sakke restaurant so I didn’t go. The place felt very clean and very safe. We had a wonderful time. We would grab ice cream at the latte place and enjoy it by the pool. A couple guests noted to smoke in the property even though it’s non smoking. Hope they get fined. Shuttle drivers need your room number to enter the gates. They have a gift shop but it’s 425mxn pesos minimum for spray sunscreen if you forgot yours so be aware it’s quite a markup. The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, one blade razor, cotton buds and cotton wipes, and a shampoo cap. Lots of bottled water available. They provide robes and slippers. Mini bar restocked daily with cookies, chips, beer, chocolate, soda, and water. I know some people complained that there’s no swim up bar but it’s not far to walk to pergola for a drink during the day. Overall we would come back. Adults only, very peaceful. Iguanas, finches, seagulls, whales, and manta rays were spotted daily. They do room service. They can do laundry, have an ironing board, a nespresso machine but didn’t provide coffee in the rooms (but they have a latte place) and a hair dryer. The hydrotherapy was a hot tub (little too hot given the weather) and a cold plunge. They have a steam room that is sometimes also too hot to a point where you can’t breathe in it. It does cool down to a regular steam room temperature and showers. In their spa locker rooms, they have toothpaste/brush.

TLDR: My partner and I will definitely be returning to the Marquis, with longer-term plans to make this resort part of an annual vacation spot. We loved the peace and quiet, being far from any urban areas, the warm pools, the ever-flowing drinks, dancing the night away, the incredible rooms, and the INCREDIBLE attention and TLC from the staff at all levels. The atmosphere this resort provides is hard to match. Located about 25min from the Los Cabos International Airport, its only neighbor is a Hilton resort (about a kilometer away) and some condominiums next door. In other words, it's REALLY quiet as far as noises from civilization are concerned. The dominant sound for much of the day are the ever-crashing waves of water on the beach that runs the length of the resort. My partner and I found that, alone, to be really peaceful and cathartic. Logistics were straightforward. We booked directly through the Marquis website, although we will have to explore the option of booking through Costco in the future to compare prices (never crossed my mind to even use Costco in that way!). Nevertheless, we got a great deal, especially since we booked six months in advance. About two months before our arrival date, we received an email confirming our private airport transportation arrangement (round-trip); the same email included their "Activities & Excursions" PDF to help us figure out what we wanted to do offsite (we ultimately took advantage of this and arranged for a day trip to visit Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo). Two weeks before our arrival date, we received a final email to begin the echeck-in process. However, the big win with the resort on this front was working with Kenia, the Guest Services Assistant, as I had wanted to both celebrate a birthday and provide a more unique, romantic experience. On both fronts, Kenia was amazing: very detailed and frequent emails, combined with some phone calls, made the task of booking a beachside dinner and arranging other special moments seamless and easy. The room was amazing. Beautiful views of the ocean, a private balcony, a very comfortable king-sized bed (I'm pretty sure it was a California King, though - it was huge), and a jetted bathtub that opened up to the bedroom were the highlights (other additions such as a safe and a spacious closet were also present). What came in the mini-fridge upon arrival was lacking (some sodas, water, and chocolate bars), but over our time there, they were slowly swapped out with alcohol and... more alcohol. We took full advantage of the all-inclusive nature of the resort. We went to each dinner-hosting restaurant at least once (booking prior to your arrival - possible after checking in online - is highly recommended) - our favorite was Sakke, their Asian-inspired restaurant. Throughout the day, getting yourself cocktails and food was as easy as either waving down one of the servers who frequent the poolside to take orders or walking up to any of the open bars - or going to Vista Ballenas or Dos Mares, the two restaurants that are open all day. A lot of cocktails were made with ice included, so if you want something neat you better ask for it that way. But overall we really enjoyed the wide variety of drinks that we requested or selected off menus. The property was, overall, very well-maintained and kept clean throughout the day. Room service was prompt and kept our room tidy over the course of our time there. Overall, we absolutely LOVED our time at the Marquis. There is no doubt that we'll be returning in the future. PS: Here's some additional notable staff from our time there: --Adriana: She ran the front door at Vista Ballenas. Very friendly, quick to get us seated even when busy, and was great to speak with --Arturo: the head server for our beachside dinner. Thank you for all the things! --Leonardo: one of the nighttime servers who we saw during evening events. Really friendly, remembers frequent attendees' names, and again, really great conversationalist

In their spa locker rooms, they have...

Was not the 5-star experience we were expecting!

We were a group of 6 women from California, with 3 separate rooms booked coming to celebrate our friends’ 40th birthday and what we thought would be a simple, fantastic service, experience for us to share. We had emailed (6 times) to ask for the rooms to be near each other and provided our confirmation numbers and they responded they’d put in a request, and as we arrived to check in…with no cold water or towel or drinks offered, we learned that they did not accommodate us and we were all of different floors of the hotel! The rooms themselves are very outdated, and even have smell of mildew, they are spacious and have great views, but the air conditioning does not work well and unable to adjust the temperature, only two small water bottles provided daily. One of the nights at 4am a fire alarm went off and woke many of us up on different floors, they had one of their electrical panels on floor 2 go up in smoke outside of one of the rooms.

Secondarily, my numerous concierge requests by email (email and form they advertise on their website), as we were a group of 6, included request for dinner reservations at their two restaurants (and yes, ONLY two restaurants for dinner available) and they responded once to tell me the options and asked for time, but never booked the reservations — as we arrived we were told that there were no spots available for us and to book all through app, which only allows you to book for number of people to the room - and only way to get for all, is to book 3 at the same time and hope all are available and add in notes that we are together (so much hassle for guests!!!) and only after pleading with concierge, they accommodated one for the night of our arrival on a Thursday for 8:45pm dinner, that’s it! There was a man, Hector, who was VERY unsympathetic or understanding and said nothing they could do since I did not get a confirmation, even though I showed my 6 emails to concierge over last 45 days asking for requests.

There is NO swim-up bar you would expect, there is no bar you can walk and order your drinks — all is done through the pool servers.

Their service is slow and only way to get attention at the pool is to keep tipping the servers, we had to tip $10/$20 every few drink orders otherwise the service was VERY slow. YOU HAVE TO BRING CASH, and tons of it - they don’t have you sign for your orders at the end where you can tip and confirm all is correct to your order, you must have cash in hand or you will literally not be seen.

The menu at the pool that’s posted in the app, is NOT AVAILABLE AT THE POOL, you could only order from another restaurant - food took a VERY long time, especially pizza. Nothing fresh on menu, plain and boring with minimal seasoning or even salt; nachos ( a few pickled jalapeños, one bite of pico, one small scoop guacamole and almost no beans or cheese), tacos are just plain tortilla with meat and tiny bit of guacamole, and essentially nothing else on menu! They don’t bring you salsa or hot sauce or salt on side.

Although they offer “Don Julio” blanco, I will tell you right now, it is watered down, they only serve their shots warm so you get more taquilla flavor and smell/taste, but it is not authentic - I had over 10 shots in a day in my margarita/ranch water, we ordered shots on the side, and never felt even a bit buzzed. There are only 4 wine options, all very cheap, served warm, and not good - their bottles to purchase were 1,300-4,900 MXP ($100-$285 usd) ; LaCrema Pinot Noir 3,100 MXP ($180 usd and on Vivino $27) so prices for anything to buy were outrageous.

We went to the SAKKE restaurant, we told them a friend was vegetarian and they still cooked all the veggies next to the meats with meat juice running into them, then to rectify it, they cooked a piece of tofu on the same grill without cleaning it. Was so inconsiderate, especially when you share in advance and most other restaurants in Cabo take allergies and diet...
