ALO Valle de Guadalupe — Hotel in Baja California

We really wanted to enjoy Alo. |The design is modern, chic and thoughtful. |The rooms were clean though there was no housekeeping during our stay, and there was hair in the tub, and cobwebs. |However, more serious issues were: |- Almost no hot water for shower/bath in both of our rooms; lukewarm to tap cold in one of them.|-Our shower head leaked and needed replacement. |- Both rooms were FREEZING during the winter. The HVAC system is not equipped to heat properly and there were no supplemental heaters. |-Bathrooms had NO heat (or insulation, apparently), so in the night rooms and floor were terribly cold, and showering in this unmanageable.|-The only coffee provided was instant in Dixie cups. Undrinkable, and disappointing, given the level they aspire to. |- We had a minor change to our itinerary with a driver Hector/ Alo had arranged. Rather than helping us with the change, we were told we could not change our itinerary WHEN WE WERE GETTING IN THE CAR, after we’d alerted the driver the day before. We were shocked when the driver told us “no problem” but the owner did not want to accommodate. |- Lastly, sadly, one member of our party had to cancel due to a death in the family. Even though Hector invited friends to stay in our friends’ room for New Years Eve he offered no credit for the three lost days. And one free night in the future is not an option, given the above issues. |The property is beautiful and has a LOT of potential, but they must address some serious deficiencies and consider better customer service and...
