This is definitely the worst resort I’ve ever stayed in my life.
All the people that work there are not professional. They don’t even know a single English. They don’t even know what thank you means. The food was extremely disgusting. It was so bad every time I ate I had food poisoning.
The people that work inside and outside are very disrespectful and maybe you’ll just meet one that was nice out of 2000 workers.
All the washrooms were extremely disgusting … dealing with the people at the front desk to sign in are also very rude, thankfully, I held my tongue, I have no tolerance for the type of disrespect they gave towards me and my friends and people that were also there signing in.
They will try to charge you $68 USD IF YOU COME A DAY LATE, WHICH ISN’T IN YOUR CONTROL BECAUSE OF THE FLIGHTS KEEP GETTING DELAYED OR CANCELLED. They will not tell you what it’s actually for they will lie and say it’s for the beach and towels, but I spoke to someone that works for Sunwing and they told me that if you come a day late to the resort, they will charge you even though it’s an all inclusive and they don’t hold their promises..
Not only I’m writing a bad review. Eight of my other friends are also going to leave a terrible review about this location. .
After reading my review, if you’re not convinced, read others reviews and reconsider where you’re gonna spend your week on vacation.
I highly recommend and I mean, I highly recommend do not go to this resort this place is garbage. It is trash.. it is PUKE.
The amount of cockroaches the amount of dirtiness you’re going to find is gonna blow your mind away .
And if you’re late for checkout, they’re gonna charge you $85 USD . Which I was never told to check out.
The photos look amazing, but if you’re there in reality, you will be very freaking disappointed ..
The only beautiful part about this location is the ocean everything else after that is completely garbage .
I just returned home today , and I couldn’t be more thankful to be home, usually I’m the type when I go on a vacation I don’t wanna leave. I wanna stay at the resort forever, but this place was such a bad experience. I was feening to leave as soon as possible.
I highly recommend you got a RIU resorts, they hold higher quality, more comfortable more professional, the people the workers! Are extremely knowledgeable and professional.
If you still aren’t convinced, just read the reviews, but if your used to living in filth and eating disgusting food this this is the right place for you.
I highly recommend you save your money and put it somewhere where it’s gonna make you your partner your family or your friends happy.
I love Cancun, but this place living here staying here for the week was the worst experience of my life that it actually made me hate Cancun.
I promised myself, and I will make sure for all my family and friends to never go to this place.
Completely TRASH. Like I don’t know how else to describe how garbage this places you’ll probably find better reviews about it on YouTube.. don’t let the pictures fool you.
Also lining up to get water or food even though there’s five people ahead of you, it’s gonna take you 30 minutes just to get you a cup of water.
The clubs in the resort close at 12, other resorts they don’t close till like 2- 3 AM, because of course we’re there to have fun and party and have a good time. Not to be told to go back to our rooms. It’s time for bed like we’re children.
And I’m not kidding you the food taste expired. If you ever decide going there with your family and your children, I promise all of you will get sick from the food. It was so disgusting that I had to go outside of the resort to eat.
The rooms, the service, the location, workers, TRASH.
I really hope this place gets shut down these guys know how to scam you. And obviously, if you don’t go by the rules, who knows what will happen next. I feel like there are affiliated with the gangs of Mexico.
The casino in the resort it’s a scam.
Stay away! From grand oasis Cancun. You’ll...
Read moreThis was a mixed experience for our family of 3. Myself, my husband and our 11 year old daughter stayed here for spring break. We booked our stay through a vacation package I purchased with Monster Reservations Group. I'll start with the pros: All the staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly. We arrived early, on the first day, so we had to wait several hours for our room which was to be expected. However, we were able to store our luggage, get our wrist bands, eat lunch and hang out at the pool until the 3pm check in time.
SERVICE in all of the restaurants was great. We tried almost all of the restaurants that were included for no additional fee with the blue bands.
The pool is large and windy, spanning across the wide property. What is nice about this is that while it was spring break and crowded with college kids overall, the college party vibe was mostly on one end, so we generally kept to the end on the right side which was more chill. There was a swim up bar as well as a walk up bar right next to the pool. There are lots of hammocks to relax in and there is access to the beach from multiple points from the pool area.
There were shows most evenings in the atrium which on its own has a nice vibe to it when you walk in. We watched the fire performance in full and that was good. We also caught a bit of the laser light show one night on our way to dinner (not sure I'd make a point to sit and watch the whole thing, but it was cool to check out for a bit as we walked through the atrium to dinner). We also saw the beginning of another performance with people in it on Thur night, but we had dinner reservations off property, so we just watched for a couple minutes.
The ocean water is pretty and beach is nice, although there were red flag warnings the whole time we were there, so couldn't enjoy the ocean as much as we would have liked.
There are peacocks roaming the property which make for fun interactions and photos as you can see.
Now for the cons: The food is meh overall. We tried nearly all the restaurants that were accessible to us with the blue bands without an extra fee. Including Bahia Steak which requires a reservation. (We made the reservation on the first day and were able to get in on our last night there.) The food there was just ok. Honestly, the salad bar there was not as good as the other restaurants. I got the salmon which was ok. Our daughter got the NY Steak - ok. And my husband tried the rib eye - meh. The sides that you could order along with it were small and meh. Our daughter didn't even eat her mac n cheese. Another thing about Bahia is that you can only order wine for an additional charge. We didn't ask about beer or cocktails, but my guess is that this is the way they get you to pay. My husband and I ordered a bottle of red to share and it wasn't great. Hacienda Sarape was some of the worst Mexican food we've had. The salad bar was actually pretty good there, but that's about it. Nachos were terrible - chips were stale and served with processed cheese sauce, not real cheese. Both of the buffets were ok, and I'd say probably the best options considering you have lots of things to choose from. But still not great. Il Forno for Italian was ok. Basic pasta and pizza. It was probably our favorite of the sit down non-buffet options, but the food was mediocre at best. Service at all the places was good though! If you are like me and trying to cut back on drinking, this is a good place to do it! I'm typically a white wine drinker and their house white wine is undrinkable. I ordered it from multiple bars and restaurants to see if maybe I got a bad bottle or if it was different in different locations. Nope, it's bad everywhere. I wound up drinking red wine with most meals. View from our room was awful, see photo. Why they would even have rooms with this type of view is beyond me. Roaches in our room which we saw running around every night. Beds and pillows are hard & uncomfortable. They are stingy on providing towels, we kept having to...
Read moreI stayed here for 10 days and this was probably the worst hotel that I have been to. There are quite a few issues that I really think that their management team needs to address - especially after reviewing the recent reviews it seems there is a general consensus of the same issues that are not being properly focused on.
Upon check in, we were informed of an environmental fee - this was a total of $92 us before we were even fully checked in. What if someone couldn't pay that after paying thousands for the trip already? Once our check in was completed, we were escorted to our room where we were asked if we had any children (no) and the woman suggested that maybe we would make one on our trip - what an insensitive comment. Once we finally settled into our room, a. there was a live cockroach in our bathroom which I caught with a glass. B. The sliding door wasn't fully sealed causing humidity and ac to leak out. C. The bed is hard - like you're sleeping on a rock hard
The food - is not up to par. This was mediocre at best. My husband found a floss string in his food and we witnessed another family find a piece of metal in their food as well. I live for vacation bacon - THERE IS NOT ONE PIECE OF BACON IN THIS HOTEL!!! Instead they have these little sausages that look like little pellets of poop. The food handling hygiene is lacking immensely - I watched a child drink directly from the hot chocolate ladle and then put it back into the hot chocolate pot. The eggs were so wet that it was swimming in a dish of liquid - I couldn't even tell you what the liquid consisted of but it was watery af.
Pool side - My favorite part of my vacation was getting up at 7:30 am to "reserve" a lounge chair by the pool and even that wasn't early enough. This was something you learn to do quite quickly as there are no chairs after 8 am that you can find. THEY ARE ALL RESERVED BY STUPID PEOPLES TOWELS. The best part is that those that would reserve these chairs didn't show up until 6-7 hours later. There are only 6 covered lounge huts for a total of 12 pool chairs and the rest is all directly in the sun. Why is there not enough lounge chairs for the amount of people (especially over the Christmas holidays) or covered areas so that those with pale skin don't burn to a crisp?
This is very much a party hotel - be prepared to be woken up at all hours of the night with other patrons yelling down the hallways. One night there was an overserved guest who then vomited all over the stairs (so so much vomit). Unbeknownst to me, I went down these stairs only to slip in said vomit while the security guard (who could've brought the vomit to anyone's attention) just looked at her phone. The restock drink cart did show up 1x during our 10 day stay - I loved having to go to all the other bar/coffee areas to ask for water which seemed to be such an inconvenience to them. Also, if you don't have a black wrist band - you're not allowed to go to some coffee shops/food areas.
Swim up Bar - There is mold all over the swim up bar tops and missing tiles in the pool. They continued to run out of cups and when they washed the reusable cups - it was mainly with water (no soap). A infection/contamination waiting to happen.
We had a tropical storm over the holidays and there was so much water in the hotels - some floors had rainwater pouring down the steps.
Staff - seemed to be very stretched thin - not enough personnel for the amount of people that they "accommodate". We had the pleasure of dealing with some of the grumpiest/unhappy staff until our very last day when one of the bartenders was so nice and happy and energetic. I wish I got his name but alas, I did not.
While I can sit here and write about my terrible experience there - there were a few pros - the beaches were beautiful, they have an express check out (all hotels should have this), Koi fish pond (surprise you have to buy the food from their shop), the ONLY good food place was the Happy Chicken for their tenders and fries, hammocks, coffee shop...
