Please also read the other reviews as they are very similar to mine. I should have read them before booking. It just that I had last minute vacation I needed to take from work. This review is not meant to bash the resort but hope to help both future guest on their decision with their vacation and for the resort management on where they need to improve. This is also meant to share my own experience. This resort is NOT an All Inclusive Resort. I would say it is partial all inclusive, but it gave me stress trying to figure out what is included or not. Once you figure out the app it will be much easier and you will realize the limited free restaurant selection also. Let me start with the positives. Entertainment are good, but not enough. Some entertainment are not for everyone. Overall service especially in the restaurant is average. Overall ambiance of the resort is average, dark and hot when you are in the lobby. Lobby gets wet when it rains. Snack bars are average -pizza, tacos, burgers, fries, ceviche, nachos...etc. The Check-In: Got there at 1pm. The Check in line was so long. Only 3 people working, there is over 20 people in the line. We waited close to an hour just to get service and be told after the wait that our room will be ready 2hrs later that day which is 4pm. Safe in the Room: Safe needs to be rented $8-$10 CDN a day. That was the first sign of the all inclusive issue for us. This is actually a deal breaker for me as well. We had to carry a few of our valuables around i.e. Passport and small jewelry and watches for dinner attire. The Beach Beach overall is great. However, If you have mobility issues, might not be the best resort for you as stairs to access the beach is fairly steep. There is also a lack of beach chairs. A lot beach lounges/chairs are broken. There seems to be more VIP lounges than the regular paid guest. VIP lounges are just out there empty while the regular paid guest are on the sand without beach chairs. The Pool Lack of pool lounge chairs or maybe they overbook the hotel. People are just putting their stuff around the pool as they cannot find a spot to lounge. Rain Resort really needs some work. It rain the evening of Nov 13, 2024. There was water leaking all over the resort. Even in our floor there was water leaking from the roof. The front of the coffee shop close to Tatish restaurant flooded. Tatish lineup again was usually long extend outside of the restaurant while people are getting rained down on. Internet Slow internet. No internet when outside room or beach area. At the end of the day. This is probably the worst of "all inclusive" experience I ever had and I try to go every year to a Real All Inclusive Resorts. I even feel embarrassed telling my friends and family about this trip or where I stayed. Would I come back? That is a hard NO! If I can turn back the clock I would definitely choose a different resort. There is a lot in this review. I hope this helps and hope management take it and try to improve. But based on the previous review they just respond with template response and move on to the next. You might see the same review with other websites like trip advisor. Sunwing needs to also update their rating for Grand Oasis. Anyways that is all....Good luck folks.

I recently stayed at Grand Oasis Cancun from 11/9 - 11/14, and my experience was far below expectations. Saturday, 11/9 I booked a room with two beds as we are not a couple, yet we were assigned a room (2154) with a single king bed. When I went through the booking arrangements with Monster Reservations Group, I specifically asked for 2 beds. Despite my request for the correct room, we were told there were no available rooms and that a rollaway bed would be delivered but that we needed to wait in our room. We waited in our room, hungry and tired. I called the front desk for an update 6 times and there was no answer. After some time, went back to the front desk and let them know that no one came and they said they would have the bed delivered to the room and that we could go eat. Only to find the bed left in the hallway without any bedding. We had to bring it inside and make it ourselves. Additionally, there were no washcloths provided, and the sink was rusted—an immediate red flag for cleanliness. Sunday, 11/10 The next morning, we discovered a leak in the room. Despite reporting this and requesting washcloths, none were provided. The concierge (I believe her name was Elise or Elisa) was dismissive and advised us to return later to speak with the manager, Fernando. When we met with him, he informed us that there were no rooms with two beds available, but he would look into it. He explained that the issues with the beds was on Monster as they only book for additional beds by availability. He mentioned that the extra bed request could only be made available IF they had the availability. We were never contacted and had to repeatedly follow up ourselves. Eventually, we were moved to room 2190. This room, while slightly better, still lacked basic amenities—a minibar/fridge. After several requests for cold water and a fridge, we were left waiting for hours. We received a replacement fridge 48 hours later after speaking to the manager several times. Furthermore, the TV channels had poor reception, and we were told there was no option to fix this. The next day, I was shown another room as an alternative, but it had visible mold in the shower. This was unacceptable, so we chose to remain in the original room. That night, we experienced another leak, this time flooding part of the room, soaking the floor near the rollaway bed. I had to request additional towels to manage the water. Throughout our stay, I noticed multiple leaks around the hotel, with wet floor signs and towels scattered everywhere, including in the dining areas. Even the day of our check out there was a leak in the room which was falling on the bed. We had to set the garbage can for some of the water to fall into. On Wednesday night (11/13) while having dinner in one of the restaurants (Hacienda Sarape) we witnessed a massive leak which was falling in to the salad bars and puddles of water on the floor. The quality of service was disappointing overall. Many staff members were unhelpful, and basic requests were repeatedly ignored. The food was bland, and the drinks were heavily diluted. I spent the entire vacation dealing with room issues and inconveniences, rather than enjoying my time at the resort.

It’s Really sad what we experienced on our family vacation 2024, we flew from Montreal to Cancún, we were there at Grand oasis Cancún almost at the end of décembre for one week, i was so exciting according to the pictures that i saw from the hôtel on Sunwing website, that we dident think twice to book, and we did, BIG MISTAKE FOR US PEOPLE DO NOT BOOK TO THIS HOTEL PLEASE.. I will try to be not to exhaustive with my review, but there is so much bad things to said Transfer from the airport to the hotel: The worst, after we were stop inside the airport for more than two people trying to sell excursions, it’s creamy, Sunwing rep are far away from the exit and they don’t even know where is your bus transfer, they don’t help with nothing, we were assign bus 3 that we had to look for ourselves in between almost 25 busses that were parked on the place Arrival at the hotel: Nobody waiting for us or welcoming at the door, we had to push our luggage all the way to their front desk Check in: The only thing they did care about was: DO NOT LOOSE YOUR KEY DOOR, otherwise you will have to paid $200 usd dollar for it, they don’t explained to much about their hotel and the amenities Room: DISGUSTING ROOM, we weren’t at that room not even 15 min, and we when straight to the customer service to ask for a change of room, I’ll post pictures as well no worries, for a room that was already reserved, I don’t understand the conditions of it, dirty sheets, and pillows as well, mirrors with hand prints all over, balcony not even welcome to open, bathroom with hair on the bathtub and to don’t mention the bad smell, not even a bottle of water for my kid to drink We were given a second room, and for real I don’t know if they didn’t on purpose or what, but it was worse than the first one, LOOK AT THE PICS PLEASE Assistance from THE CONCIERGE: really not professional at all, we when to see them at night on the first day asking for water and nothing from them, on the second day at 12 o clock I had to get out of my room to asked them for water again because they never put any on my room. Service from the SUNWING REP: We stop 3 times during the week that we were there to let them now what it was going on with us and they wasn’t to helpful at all, the only thing they told us was that they were just intermediaries in between the client and the hotel, that only thing that they could do for us was to received the plain, plain that we did, and that we never had any news from them afterwards Hotel quality: It’s not a FAMILY HOTEL at all, we slept almost 2 or 3 hours per night, they were a lot off young people screaming and singing late at night and running on the corridors and knocking at the doors. If you have a family I don’t recommend it at all as a family hotel, as soon as we arrived I got in touch with SUNWING, and I am still waiting for them, Good luck to you guys in finding a nice hotel in Cancún for a family vacation, but definitely GRAND OASIS CANCÚN it’s not THE ONE One important thing: they get crazy in selling you tour& excursions trips, or Hotel memberships, but taking care of their guests when they need it, it’s not their strongest point

This is definitely the worst resort I’ve ever stayed in my life.

All the people that work there are not professional. They don’t even know a single English. They don’t even know what thank you means. The food was extremely disgusting. It was so bad every time I ate I had food poisoning.

The people that work inside and outside are very disrespectful and maybe you’ll just meet one that was nice out of 2000 workers.

All the washrooms were extremely disgusting … dealing with the people at the front desk to sign in are also very rude, thankfully, I held my tongue, I have no tolerance for the type of disrespect they gave towards me and my friends and people that were also there signing in.

They will try to charge you $68 USD IF YOU COME A DAY LATE, WHICH ISN’T IN YOUR CONTROL BECAUSE OF THE FLIGHTS KEEP GETTING DELAYED OR CANCELLED. They will not tell you what it’s actually for they will lie and say it’s for the beach and towels, but I spoke to someone that works for Sunwing and they told me that if you come a day late to the resort, they will charge you even though it’s an all inclusive and they don’t hold their promises..

Not only I’m writing a bad review. Eight of my other friends are also going to leave a terrible review about this location. .

After reading my review, if you’re not convinced, read others reviews and reconsider where you’re gonna spend your week on vacation.

I highly recommend and I mean, I highly recommend do not go to this resort this place is garbage. It is trash.. it is PUKE.

The amount of cockroaches the amount of dirtiness you’re going to find is gonna blow your mind away .

And if you’re late for checkout, they’re gonna charge you $85 USD . Which I was never told to check out.

The photos look amazing, but if you’re there in reality, you will be very freaking disappointed ..

The only beautiful part about this location is the ocean everything else after that is completely garbage .

I just returned home today , and I couldn’t be more thankful to be home, usually I’m the type when I go on a vacation I don’t wanna leave. I wanna stay at the resort forever, but this place was such a bad experience. I was feening to leave as soon as possible.

I highly recommend you got a RIU resorts, they hold higher quality, more comfortable more professional, the people the workers! Are extremely knowledgeable and professional.

If you still aren’t convinced, just read the reviews, but if your used to living in filth and eating disgusting food this this is the right place for you.

I highly recommend you save your money and put it somewhere where it’s gonna make you your partner your family or your friends happy.

I love Cancun, but this place living here staying here for the week was the worst experience of my life that it actually made me hate Cancun.

I promised myself, and I will make sure for all my family and friends to never go to this place.

Completely TRASH. Like I don’t know how else to describe how garbage this places you’ll probably find better reviews about it on YouTube.. don’t let the pictures fool you.

Also lining up to get water or food even though there’s five people ahead of you, it’s gonna take you 30 minutes just to get you a cup of water.

The clubs in the resort close at 12, other resorts they don’t close till like 2- 3 AM, because of course we’re there to have fun and party and have a good time. Not to be told to go back to our rooms. It’s time for bed like we’re children.

And I’m not kidding you the food taste expired. If you ever decide going there with your family and your children, I promise all of you will get sick from the food. It was so disgusting that I had to go outside of the resort to eat.

The rooms, the service, the location, workers, TRASH.

I really hope this place gets shut down these guys know how to scam you. And obviously, if you don’t go by the rules, who knows what will happen next. I feel like there are affiliated with the gangs of Mexico.

The casino in the resort it’s a scam.

Stay away! From grand oasis Cancun. You’ll...

This was a mixed experience for our family of 3. Myself, my husband and our 11 year old daughter stayed here for spring break. We booked our stay through a vacation package I purchased with Monster Reservations Group. I'll start with the pros: All the staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly. We arrived early, on the first day, so we had to wait several hours for our room which was to be expected. However, we were able to store our luggage, get our wrist bands, eat lunch and hang out at the pool until the 3pm check in time.

SERVICE in all of the restaurants was great. We tried almost all of the restaurants that were included for no additional fee with the blue bands.

The pool is large and windy, spanning across the wide property. What is nice about this is that while it was spring break and crowded with college kids overall, the college party vibe was mostly on one end, so we generally kept to the end on the right side which was more chill. There was a swim up bar as well as a walk up bar right next to the pool. There are lots of hammocks to relax in and there is access to the beach from multiple points from the pool area.

There were shows most evenings in the atrium which on its own has a nice vibe to it when you walk in. We watched the fire performance in full and that was good. We also caught a bit of the laser light show one night on our way to dinner (not sure I'd make a point to sit and watch the whole thing, but it was cool to check out for a bit as we walked through the atrium to dinner). We also saw the beginning of another performance with people in it on Thur night, but we had dinner reservations off property, so we just watched for a couple minutes.

The ocean water is pretty and beach is nice, although there were red flag warnings the whole time we were there, so couldn't enjoy the ocean as much as we would have liked.

There are peacocks roaming the property which make for fun interactions and photos as you can see.

Now for the cons: The food is meh overall. We tried nearly all the restaurants that were accessible to us with the blue bands without an extra fee. Including Bahia Steak which requires a reservation. (We made the reservation on the first day and were able to get in on our last night there.) The food there was just ok. Honestly, the salad bar there was not as good as the other restaurants. I got the salmon which was ok. Our daughter got the NY Steak - ok. And my husband tried the rib eye - meh. The sides that you could order along with it were small and meh. Our daughter didn't even eat her mac n cheese. Another thing about Bahia is that you can only order wine for an additional charge. We didn't ask about beer or cocktails, but my guess is that this is the way they get you to pay. My husband and I ordered a bottle of red to share and it wasn't great. Hacienda Sarape was some of the worst Mexican food we've had. The salad bar was actually pretty good there, but that's about it. Nachos were terrible - chips were stale and served with processed cheese sauce, not real cheese. Both of the buffets were ok, and I'd say probably the best options considering you have lots of things to choose from. But still not great. Il Forno for Italian was ok. Basic pasta and pizza. It was probably our favorite of the sit down non-buffet options, but the food was mediocre at best. Service at all the places was good though! If you are like me and trying to cut back on drinking, this is a good place to do it! I'm typically a white wine drinker and their house white wine is undrinkable. I ordered it from multiple bars and restaurants to see if maybe I got a bad bottle or if it was different in different locations. Nope, it's bad everywhere. I wound up drinking red wine with most meals. View from our room was awful, see photo. Why they would even have rooms with this type of view is beyond me. Roaches in our room which we saw running around every night. Beds and pillows are hard & uncomfortable. They are stingy on providing towels, we kept having to...

I stayed here for 10 days and this was probably the worst hotel that I have been to. There are quite a few issues that I really think that their management team needs to address - especially after reviewing the recent reviews it seems there is a general consensus of the same issues that are not being properly focused on.

Upon check in, we were informed of an environmental fee - this was a total of $92 us before we were even fully checked in. What if someone couldn't pay that after paying thousands for the trip already? Once our check in was completed, we were escorted to our room where we were asked if we had any children (no) and the woman suggested that maybe we would make one on our trip - what an insensitive comment. Once we finally settled into our room, a. there was a live cockroach in our bathroom which I caught with a glass. B. The sliding door wasn't fully sealed causing humidity and ac to leak out. C. The bed is hard - like you're sleeping on a rock hard

The food - is not up to par. This was mediocre at best. My husband found a floss string in his food and we witnessed another family find a piece of metal in their food as well. I live for vacation bacon - THERE IS NOT ONE PIECE OF BACON IN THIS HOTEL!!! Instead they have these little sausages that look like little pellets of poop. The food handling hygiene is lacking immensely - I watched a child drink directly from the hot chocolate ladle and then put it back into the hot chocolate pot. The eggs were so wet that it was swimming in a dish of liquid - I couldn't even tell you what the liquid consisted of but it was watery af.

Pool side - My favorite part of my vacation was getting up at 7:30 am to "reserve" a lounge chair by the pool and even that wasn't early enough. This was something you learn to do quite quickly as there are no chairs after 8 am that you can find. THEY ARE ALL RESERVED BY STUPID PEOPLES TOWELS. The best part is that those that would reserve these chairs didn't show up until 6-7 hours later. There are only 6 covered lounge huts for a total of 12 pool chairs and the rest is all directly in the sun. Why is there not enough lounge chairs for the amount of people (especially over the Christmas holidays) or covered areas so that those with pale skin don't burn to a crisp?

This is very much a party hotel - be prepared to be woken up at all hours of the night with other patrons yelling down the hallways. One night there was an overserved guest who then vomited all over the stairs (so so much vomit). Unbeknownst to me, I went down these stairs only to slip in said vomit while the security guard (who could've brought the vomit to anyone's attention) just looked at her phone. The restock drink cart did show up 1x during our 10 day stay - I loved having to go to all the other bar/coffee areas to ask for water which seemed to be such an inconvenience to them. Also, if you don't have a black wrist band - you're not allowed to go to some coffee shops/food areas.

Swim up Bar - There is mold all over the swim up bar tops and missing tiles in the pool. They continued to run out of cups and when they washed the reusable cups - it was mainly with water (no soap). A infection/contamination waiting to happen.

We had a tropical storm over the holidays and there was so much water in the hotels - some floors had rainwater pouring down the steps.

Staff - seemed to be very stretched thin - not enough personnel for the amount of people that they "accommodate". We had the pleasure of dealing with some of the grumpiest/unhappy staff until our very last day when one of the bartenders was so nice and happy and energetic. I wish I got his name but alas, I did not.

While I can sit here and write about my terrible experience there - there were a few pros - the beaches were beautiful, they have an express check out (all hotels should have this), Koi fish pond (surprise you have to buy the food from their shop), the ONLY good food place was the Happy Chicken for their tenders and fries, hammocks, coffee shop...
