I usually don't write negative reviews but this resort deserves. To begin with the room , I reserved a premium king room with an ocean view which was charged a premium, based on the description I thought it would be on the ocean or at least having a clear view of it but to my surprise only during checkin they mentioned that its only partial view so the description was deceiving , Also upon entering the room which was on 3rd floor to my another shock there were complete gardens and trees which was blocking the view of the ocean, if this is what I wanted I would have booked a garden view instead which is obviously a bit lesser too . Checkin experience : It was fine, it took 10-15mins if I remember. We arrived around 3:30 or so and after checkin process was complete by 3:45PM may be. I asked clearly the receptionist that we want to have lunch and mentioned that we are with a 2 year old kid and he is hungry, she was boasting that they have 11 restaurants and I can have anywhere so obviously I entered the main restaurant as they would have a buffet but after entering they said it was closed , they made me walk to another restaurant which was a health snack place so we grabbed something and there was no place to sit there , there was a Thai restaurant just on the side so we wanted to sit there, they said its open only for dinner. I found it very bad that it was scorching hot and we were with a kid, the minimum they could do is just provide a table no need of any service or anything. We ended up eating out in that heat Restaurants : As I mentioned above, they do say they have 10-11 restaurants but only 1-2 restaurants are open for breakfast and lunch and the remaining are just open for dinner. This minimum basic information is also not mentioned to us at checkin and they just said check the app . Food was also average I would say and not great or very limited options, my wife is a vegetarian and there were not many options at all for vegetarian. They need to improve on the display of the food items as well, one day there was a pizza and it just said pizza on display but it didn't say whether it is a veg/chicken/ham pizza. I don't eat Ham and had to ask a waiter which I felt she was also not sure what type of pizza it was. Only thing I did like were the live Tacos for dinner which was on a mexican thursday night and I should appreciate the person who was doing it Now, coming to service I have to say this is the worst service I have ever seen in a star hotel. I have been to multiple resorts across Asia, Africa and USA but this is just very very bad, they just want tips that's all, nothing else. Every restaurant I went we had to ask multiple times for water or coffee or any juice, they were not at all courteous in helping parents with kids who obviously come with a stroller. They dont have stroller friendly paths in the main restaurant and only stairs so it was just me and my wife who had to carry the stroller and none of the waiters even tried to help, after all of this while we are leaving they come and ask how is the service expecting tips. I don't mind tipping and I have done places where they did fine but when there is very bad service also and coming and asking for tips I was just surprised Conceirge : Another bad experience I had was losing my airpods at the resort which was my fault but I realized it immediately on the day we checked out , so I immediately called the resort and the front desk kept forwarding the call to someone else and they didnt respond. This happened for 3-4 days and not once but I called everyday at least 4-5 times , only after 4 days someone responded and gave me a whatsapp number to reach out to. I texted them the details but their response was also very slow, I followed up with them multiple times and only after 2 days they said we don't have it in lost and found. I know its my fault of losing it in the first place but if someone would have responded on the first day itself there may have been a slightest chance of finding them
Never ever suggesting this resort to anyone, stay at...
Read moreThis was my second time here, so I feel like I can really confidently leave a review. I teetered between two and three stars but ultimately settled on three because of the beach, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the kindness and attentiveness from most of the staff.
We came here for our anniversary and made sure to put that we were celebrating in our special requests when we booked. We also took it upon ourselves to remind the gentleman checking us in that it was our anniversary. We waited an additional hour and a half after check-in to get taken up to our room. As we sat at the bar, an incredibly friendly and kind concierge named Carla came to us and talked a bit about the resort itself. She then exclaimed that she would make sure to pass on the word that it was our anniversary (spoiler alert: nobody did).
They sent us up to the wrong room first. We paid for an ocean front upgrade when we checked in, and they sent us up to a room that our wristbands couldn’t even open. Then, when we did get into the correct room, we were a bit disappointed to find that there were no special accommodations that other guests have received while celebrating their anniversaries. No chocolates, no rose petals, not even a “happy anniversary” or fun folded swan towels :( Obviously it’s not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to feel special, especially after being led to believe that we would be getting some sort of treat or toast for our celebration.
My next gripe is with the “club exclusive” amenities. Another review mentioned that there is going to be a sales person at every corner with a pitch; that is absolutely correct. We walked past a sign in the lobby today that said “Spa, 2 for $150” so we went and inquired. It turns out it’s one of those predatory scams where they give you some ridiculous discount on a massage (that was already obscenely priced) if you attend their 3-hour long presentation on why you should become a Fiesta Rewards Member.
Upsells, upsells, upsells. “All-inclusive” with an almost unavoidable mass amount of things, services, and items with uncharges. A pair of sunglasses from the gift shop? $50. A bottle of wine from one of “all inclusive” restaurants? $120. This is ridiculous and I have never experienced it with any other resort besides Fiesta Americana.
The food, straight up, sucks. It’s not good. The drinks are great! They have phenomenal liquor selection. The food is so, so bad unfortunately. We walked out of our dinner at the Italian restaurant, Rosato, after being consistently ghosted by our waiter and served what tasted like pre-frozen overcooked pasta. My boyfriend’s chicken parm was so salty he couldn’t even eat it.
We also ended up walking out of the Argentinian steak house after taking one look at the menu. The prices and items on the physical menu in the restaurant do NOT reflect that of the website online. If you actually wanted a steak, it was going to be at least a $20 up charge.
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING good, down to the cabana beds, a section of the beach, and even some of the dang lounge chairs are reserved for “fiesta rewards members” only. Even though the resort was practically empty (we came right before labor day weekend) everything was still “reserved” for VIPs. I got a flashback to when I was here in 2019 with my parents, and was yelled at by an employee for sitting down on a cabana bed when I didn’t realize it was ViP oNLy.
The reason I gave three stars is because, despite the lack of hospitality and good food, the resort itself is beautiful. Easily the best beach I’ve ever had access to at a hotel. The pools are nice and clean, there’s an infinity pool, and the water stays warm. There have also been different servers, room service staff, and bartenders that have just been outstanding. Namely Enrique; he is easily one of the most talented, quick, and friendliest bartenders I have ever met.
I probably won’t come back unfortunately, we’ll most likely go to...
Read moreThe hotel is nice. However, it said that they had a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back included. We never recieved any info upon arrival. We couldn’t find their shuttle. It was a tad overwhelming with people holding up taxi signs everywhere. We ended up paying $180USD for 8 of us to get to the hotel. Check-in process was good. They held our luggage until we could get in the room. Downside was they didn’t have a true changing room. You have to use the restroom in the lobby. Stalls were small (normal size) which made it hard to change without dropping anything in the toilet. The pool is nice and big. The staff were amazing! Every day we had the same guy taking care of us. Loved him! The biggest downside for us is that the beach is not swimmable. The waves were huge and would knock you down if you tried to get in. It was a red flag day every single day (6 day stay). We were bummed about that because we had intended on floating in the ocean with beautiful water. They should advertise that the ocean is not swimmable along their beach. They have seaweed (we expected that) but we also saw that they were great about raking it up every day. It never got raked. The hotel area did not feel safe. They had police on atvs with guns patrolling up and down the beach which felt uneasy. They also closed the beach at 7 or 8pm because it wasn’t safe. They only have one pool and it closed at 8. They advertise a Teen Club where they can congregate and dance. They had signs for it everywhere but we asked where it was and they said those signs are old and havent been taken down even though the club closed a very long time ago. The Fire Show was good. But definitely not kid appropriate. The dancers wore clothes that looked like lingerie and they definitely were doing adult moves. We ended up sending the kids to the room because of how provocative it was. The pool had a dj which was nice. They did games. Some of them were kid games but several were adult only games and they were not family friendly at all. Girls in thongs and more. The restaurants were lacking. Hardly anything was open for lunch or breakfast. Dinner was not a great experience because they only have a few choices and the wait every night was at least an hour and a half. Also they say it’s All Inclusive but it is not at all. Every restaurant had an up charge to get certain food. Nothing fancy. But it was crazy to have to spend $100USD for someone to get a steak at an all inclusive resort. They have a kids club but it’s for small kids. Our two family had 4 kids. Ages 3, 10, 12 and 13. The oldest three were bored a lot of the time. Their favorite thing was getting room service throughout the day. At the end of the day, we expected a family friendly resort. What we got was a resort that was definitely not geared towards families. We have stayed at family friendly resorts I several places that were truly all inclusive and had plenty of things for kids of all ages to do. And their beaches were gorgeous and safe. We have done Beaches in Turks and Caicos and in Jamaica. Both were top notch. You didn’t have to wear a bracelet on your wrist. The resorts always feel safe. They have 21 restaurants in Turks and Caicos and we never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table ((two families of 8 people total). We will definitely not go back to Fiesta Americana Condesa again. It’s not what’s advertised. Also, our room was nice but muggy the entire time. Everything felt wet the entire trip. Bedding, our clothes, etc. it wasn’t the worst experience but it definitely was not close to the best experience. This is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to give a bad review. I feel like they lied to us upon booking via their advertisements and website. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of two is because of the employees. And the ocean view is gorgeous. Otherwise it would be a...
