La Casa de Cris & Jose — Hotel in Cancún

I got a cheap reservation and it's close to the airport, but can't recommend. They don't answer the phone. The beds were dirty, no running water all night, dead bugs all over the room, peeling wallpaper, stained blankets barely large enough for a child. I don't think they wash anything between guests. He did not mention the water was shut off. There was no water of any kind available or accessible. No amenities available, unlike the listing. There was AC. Website said there was an airport shuttle but there isn't; the man who checked us in offered to taxi us for a high PayPal only fee, didn't accept cash or credit cards. We had 2 additional people in the room; that fee was also demanded PayPal only, and they refused to accept the card we paid for the room with. Not explained until after we arrived. The community has high security, but this place was hard to find, and the room's frosted glass doors and poor conditions weren't confidence boosters. 15 mins to airport by car, but not walkable at all. We definitely did not miss a flight, we were looking for a place to hangout while waiting for our flight to go home after my family had a flight earlier that day. We were clear on the phone we only needed it for less than a day and we were told no problem. We asked if we needed to make a reservation and we were told no and to just to come to the house. The only reason I was angry was because we could not find the house as the area is not developed. Once we found the house, we were told to ring so that a lady at the house could open the gate for us. After waiting for over 10 minutes the lady appeared and we told her our information and she walked away with nothing being said and left us outside the gate. I was upset and the guy we spoke to on the phone was yelling at us, he even had the audacity to ask us if we were drunk, yes we were wasted at 11am! LOL. Nov.16, 2019 my wife and i had booked the room for 1 night only and we started to get a uneasy feeling from the start. We were greeted by a lady that looked suspicious and not overly friendly during the greeting. Once we arrived into the house (outside was dark) we could smell odors. The place was dirty, unclean, strong cigar smoke. My wife was not happy with the vibes she gave and the feeling of the house and decided to look for another place to stay. I ready many of the reviews in the past and many people really liked this place, it was close to the airport and a good price so i thought we were lucky to find it. I don't know if the management has changed? The inner house is a 1 Star rating at best! See photos of interior. If you have standards of comfort then you may wish to reconsider your stay here?
