LA FAMILIA CORLEONE — Restaurant in Cancún

This is the best pizza I have had in Cancun. However, this isn't saying much. Very okay at best. The inner crust was not chewy or crisp, but semi soggy. The outer crust was good. The "garlic bread" reminded me of a chopped up hot dog bun that was cold and not warmed. Not buttered nor any garlic on it. It came with a bland red salsa that was from a can I would assume. The salsa was cold. This was not an Italian bread or a French bread with a nice crust. The red wine was cold. Really??? Red wine should be served room temperature. Have these people eaten in an Italian restaurant ever or been to Sicily or Italy or the Italian Hill in St. Louis or North Jersey...Little Italy??? The pasta with meat sauce was bland as hell. No character at all. Chef Bouardi from a can would be significantly better. The dance track music was weird. There on the wall is Marlon Brando as the Godfather. If the Don heard this music and ate this pasta, he would have Luka Brasi send this restaurant a Sicilian message by making it sleep with the fishes. In other words, it is a restaurant you can refuse. Fredo could do better if he was in charge of this joint. Even the fat Caporegime, Clemenza would not eat...

Dare I say the best Italian food I’ve had on the North American continent so far. The freshness of the ingredients, the preparation and portions, all top tier. We ordered the octopus, Corleone pasta and Corleone pizza. The family and I were blown away from the very first bite and were sure that the chef had to be Italian, and indeed she is. Towards the end of our dinner she approached our table and introduced herself with amazing energy, you can tell why the food is as good as it is. The location is tranquil and beautifully decorated, and the service from our server Hector was phenomenal. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner experience. 10/10 recommend. I’m on a streak with amazing places in Cancun! Hopefully the next place lives up to this...

Buscaba algún lugar para la cena de cumpleaños de mi esposo. Leí varias opciones y me pareció a adecuada. Antes de elegir un lugar me gusta leer reseñas del lugar para saber si es apropiado a la ocasión. Esta vez solo leí el comentario más reciente que decía que había una mesera seria y que parecía molesta pero que todo lo demás estuvo riquísimo, entonces lo dejé pasar. Muy mala decisión. Llegamos al lugar y tomamos asiento en la parte de adentro. Queríamos ordenar una pizza, una lasaña y un calzone para compartir ya que mis suegros no comen mucho y al parecer las porciones son bastas. Y adivinen qué? Por cómo me sentí con nuestra mesera supe de inmediato que era la misma de la cual había leído. La señorita muy seria, poco amable y se molestó cuando le pedimos tiempo para leer el menú porque es muy largo. Al momento de atendernos se sentía muy incómodo. Lo peor llegó cuando le pedimos una lasaña, y ella nos indicó donde se encontraba en el menú y al señalarlo le pedimos uno. Nuestra sorpresa fue cuando otra mesera nos llevó otro platillo (una pasta que no habíamos ordenado) creímos que fue una confusión, pero otra sorpresa, regresó la mesera sería y nos estaba exclamando poco amable que eso es lo que habíamos ordenado, se puso muy tenso al momento que nos dijo que eso ordenamos y que no había nada que hacer. En cuanto se puso enojada, mi esposo y mi suegro optamos por irnos del lugar, de sentía una tensión horrible. La segunda mesera nos alcanzó para tratar de arreglar la situación pero genuinamente ya no nos sentíamos cómodos por cómo nos exigió la mesera anterior que eso “ordenamos” y que eso tendremos. Muy mala experiencia, hoy es cumpleaños de mi esposo y esperábamos pasarla agradablemente y festejar. Que lástima del lugar que no corresponda los precios tan elevados para la calidad del servicio. Estoy escribiendo esto desde Mr. Lasagna otro restaurante italiano en el cual nos atienden amablemente y con respeto. Espero puedan mejorar el servicio, hay veces que no se va a un lugar solo por la comida, sino por cómo el servicio te hace sentir cómodo y este no...
