HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: THEFT, NEGLIGENCE & DANGER (DO NOT STAY HERE!)
My family and I stayed at this hotel for two days, and it was a DISASTROUS experience. I warn everyone: --DO NOT STAY HERE!--
STAFF THEFT: The housekeeper STOLE a priceless ring belonging to my sister. This was not our carelessness—the ring was stored among our belongings and disappeared after room cleaning.
USELESS & COMPLICIT MANAGEMENT: When we reported the theft, the manager did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They didn’t investigate, question their staff, or help recover the jewelry. It’s clear they cover for each other, protecting dishonest employees. They’re institutionalized CROOKS!
DANGEROUS FACILITIES: Floors are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY throughout the hotel. My mother had a serious fall after leaving the bathroom because of this. The bathtub is dangerously high with no support rails, making it unsafe for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues.
This hotel lacks ethics, safety, and concern for guests. Between the brazen theft, incompetent management, and hazardous facilities, this is the WORST place to stay in Chetumal. We lost an invaluable sentimental heirloom and nearly lost my mother due to their negligence. STAY FAR AWAY...

Funny how the simple things in life put a smile on your face. Out on the balcony, there was a lovely view over the three pools outside. |A small fridge was nice to cool off the water bottles for the next day. |Wifi was strong in the room. |TV worked but no English shows and couldn’t get the digital(?) to work so streamed on my phone. |Bathroom nice but shower a little awkward to get into and out of.|Staff were exceptionally friendly, even though they didn’t speak much English. A smile goes a long way. |An Oxxo nearby was enough to pick up snacks and a light meal for dinner. |Only downside was a “critter” in my bed, something like a beetle which I scooped away. No big deal but I checked the rest of the bed. All fine. |Good location in Chetumal.||#chetumalhotel|#thewanderingreviewer...
