MANTURA Bistro Garden — Restaurant in Chetumal

This restaurant is a gem in Chetumal. It has Spanish food as good or better than Spain.

The Croquettes de Cochinita Pibil were really, really good. The Kibis were the best I have ever had. The papas bravas were better than anywhere I had them in Spain.

The main reason we came was for the Spanish Ham (jamon serrano), because it is the ideal Spanish breakfast. It was excellent.

We also ordered the Chilaquiles, and they were good too, but the best things that we had were the Spanish items.

Next time, we will try the Asian dishes. An incredible find in Chetumal for sure. My wife has family here, and they have never heard of it even though they live just a few...

We were staying at the hotel and decided to try the restaurant. We were in the mood for a burger. The restaurant is cute, the young women who waited on us were lovely. The food was okay, the fries were little skinny shoestrings, very disappointing, we were expecting actual fries. The burger was good, confused as to what the bun was, it was untoasted, very white and unfortunately soggy. The price we thought was high, considering in Merida and Campeche at an upscale restaurant for a burger and fries we paid only $175/180, whereas here we paid $210. The fries at these restaurants (Merida, Campeche) are actual wedges. All in all, we won't...

Great place for breakfast or lunch at this centrally located, lovely Hotel Arges. Overlooking the pool. Fruit salad and yogurt was huge, including home-made granola. Large menu but I was not there long enough to consume other meals. The morning I was there, the restaurant seemed under-staffed and service was slow. My only suggestion is to have a different lighting for evening meals which is too bright...and suggestion of promotions for guests. Worth a visit if you are...
