If you are planning to visit San Cristóbal, don’t hesitate for a second, go to Casa Satoshi ! You'll definitely find a home there. The hostel is intimate, with comfortable rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and cozy, beautifully decorated common areas. I fell in love with the rooftop, which has the best view of the city, a stunning 180° panorama of the mountains and the nearby church. Having breakfast there was my favorite part of the day.
What makes this place truly special is the attention from the staff. They do everything they can to make you feel welcome. If you want to meet people from all around the world, this is the place to be. Twice a week, they organize a “family dinner,” a shared meal with all the guests and staff, creating a joyful and connected atmosphere that I absolutely loved. There’s also a bar upstairs with affordable beers, and every Saturday they host a cool party with a DJ. The party doesn’t go late, so those who want to sleep aren’t disturbed, but you can still find people to join you for clubbing afterward. The hostel is conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from the central plaza, perfect for exploring everything this amazing city has to offer. I would definitely recommend Casa Satoshi, it felt so special to me, and I already miss the Casa...
Read moreJordan, Foued and their team of volunteers are friendly and enthusiastic. The hostel just opened in January and the team are working on making it better. We arrived early and was able to check in to our room earlier. We had the double room and it was spacious. Clothes rack & shelves. A desk and chair for working. There was an issue with the lock on the door and curtain had came down. Both was fixed within an hour of Jordan being notified. Sunset social on the terrace was fun. Basic breakfast - toast, cereals and coffee was plentiful for us. They helped us organised the Sumidero Canyon tour. The location was close to zocalo & tourist places and within walkable distance to ADO bus terminal (15mins). It’s in a safe neighborhood, with local restaurants, bar and convenient store nearby.
They did have some water/plumbing issue. Seems to be a town-wide issue. We do know that they are working on fixing this with better water...
