We always stay at this hotel when in Torreon Mexico. We have stayed here so many times and always have a good experience. The rooms are clean, lots of super hot water, the AC blows super cold, and the rooms are comfortable. The rooms have large flat screen TVs, and are a nice size. The front desk staff are always very helpful and this time even helped us print our digital airplane ticket / boarding pass. I like the security measures where you have to have a room key to operate the elevator. And you can only get off on the floor your room is located on. This prevents strangers and fake guests from accessing the floors. We have never had any issues with the cars in the parking lot, or any other security issues here, overall a very safe clean hotel. They have a nice pool and exerciser room. A nice business center and mini conference room along with larger event / meeting rooms for rent. The food is decent but we always op to go enjoy other restaurants in the area for the variety and to get out. Denny's is in walking distance as are several other restaurants and food options. There is also a Walmart, Office Depot, Pharmacy, and much more all within walking distance. The Galleria Mall is also very close. As Americans we feel really safe in this area and have never had any issues. There is also a Dollar exchange (Casa de Cambio) in the Office Depot Plaza within walking distance catty-corner from the Denny's two blocks from the hotel. This place had decent rate of exchange and you will only need an ID if you are exchanging over $1,000 US Dollars. Its always good to have Mexican Pesos on hand. WARNING!! The Torreon Transit police engage in Extortion and Corruption. This is where having pesos is important... We fell victim of yet another Transit extortion this week over on BLVD Revolution. (This happens every time we visit Torreon) We were stopped and threatened with confiscation of the drivers license and a $2,000 Pesos fine because we supposedly drove through an unmarked cross walk without stopping for pedestrians we did not see. The traffic cop was aggressive, rude, and, threatened us with a lot of hassle unless we paid him 500 pesos cash to let us go. We just paid the money to avoid problems. Whenever we visit Mexico Torreon the only criminals we encounter are these traffic cops. Be alert and budget extra pesos for just a situation.

Good deal in price. Good breakfast. Room 2101 was outdated with several faults in the infrastructure. See photo. Lamps are not easy to turn on, as you need to be lucky to find the switches sequence on/off. Dinner was not good. They offer a NELLY TORTA for more than 210 pesos, with 4 types of meats. For the price you imagine a big baguette but what you receive is a thin sandwich in a roll bread with one single slide of roast beef, pork ham, turkey ham cheese and avocado. Very small vs price.

Staffs are all kind and room is clean and comfortable for me. Small health club Small swimming pool Buffet in the morning Starburks inside is the best in this place.

The whole point of a hotel for me is being able to relax and get rest, so this review is to help those people out there who, like me, cannot sleep in a HOT room. The problem is the air conditioning system is operated with a motion sensor. Which means when you go to bed at night in a comfortable temperature and there is no longer movement in the room to keep the A/C activated, the room then becomes unbelievably hot and stuffy. It woke me at 2am and was 80 degrees in the room. I could not get back to sleep for the entire night. At around 6am, when I had to rouse myself out of my heat coma and started walking around, the A/C started again-thanks. This is our crew layover hotel and we have no choice but to stay here for the duration of the contract. We stay in hotels for a living and I have only encountered this cruel system thankfully only a handful of times. I can't believe a hotel would install such a system in a place that gets so hot. Why would you do this to your guests? So other than the brutally hot room, the hotel is fine. There are lots of places to eat and shops etc. The pool looks nice-we weren't there long enough to use it on that layover. I had a view of the pool from my room and when we checked in late that night I saw plenty of used towels strewn all around that were still there the next morning. I also had no coffee maker in my room. And this is odd, no wash cloths or hand towels, only two bath towels. I called for some hand towels and someone came with two more bath towels. The best part of the stay is the breakfast, it's very good. There's an omelet bar and nice fruit and excellent service by friendly staff. But I'd trade it for a cool room and restful...

This is the first time I have stayed in this location. ||||I checked in Tuesday. Thursday night (around 10 p.m.) the phone in the room rang. When I picked up, it was the front desk to inform me I got a call. I take it, and the person in the other end says my full name, my room number (and even the number of another on which I stayed the first day), the name of the company I worked for, and informs me he is the manager of the Real Inn and that there has been an issue: There is car in the hotel's parking lot that has been reported as stolen, therefore the police is in the hotel, working things out, so they are going around, knocking on every door to find out if the thief is there. He asked me to stay inside, door locked. If anyone knocks on my door I should not open. ||||Then he said that he will turn the phone to the commander in chief so he could give me more details... Since I have heard about this extorsion before, I hanged up the phone immediately. ||||I called the front desk and asked them if their manager just called me. The guy in front desk tells me that this is not the case, the call came from Monterrey and that he passed it to me just because the guy calling told him my name. I told him to don't pass any other call to my room as long as I remain in the hotel. ||||I am pretty sure they got all my info from the what I provided when I checked in. There is someone in the hotel providing them info, so...
