This hotel is definitely not worth the cost. We paid over $100.00 a night. The view from the hotel was beautiful. The hotel is lacking in so many ways. First, your bathroom is next to the hallway. The window to the bathroom is semi translucent, so everything you do do close to the window, yep that’s right… the person outside is watching as well. Now that being said, every noise you make in the bathroom is echoed down the hallway. Just hope someone outside is there to comfort you in your moment by telling you, you can do it.
200 pesos for a security deposit for the remote to the tv. The tv is 19” so good luck to you and the family that want a restful day in. The view from the balcony is great, but the amount of noise that you have coming in your room, really isn’t worth it. You hear everything from the nightclubs until 2:00-3:00 in the morning. When you close the door, it does cut some of the noise but still enough outside to bother you if your a lite sleeper. Now that you closed the door all the heat in the room has no where to go, the room becomes stuffy. So you have a choice now to open your hallway window to where everyone walking down the hallway can see into your bathroom and hear and possibly get a glimpse of a wanderer and open your window which allows more noise to have some air flow. It’s a lose, lose situation. The wifi in room, good luck with that one. Doesn’t exists.
The hotel prices are really high for what you get. There are better rooms out there, the view can be seen from a number of different areas. We will look for another hotel in the area...
Read moreThis hotel is much better than some of these reviews suggest. Many types of accommodations are offered, including economically-priced rooms high up, with balcony and amazing view. We stayed in such a room, which was basic but clean and comfortable. Typical of many Mexican hotels, the beds consist of a mattress on top of a concrete pedestal. This makes them harder than a lot of people prefer but after a day tramping around this hilly, high altitude city, few will have trouble sleeping. Air conditioning or at least a fan would provide a more comfortable room in warmer weather, which is April to November. The beautiful pool and poolside terrace with are among the hotels strongest features. Far from finding staff unfriendly we found them helpful and accommodating - even calling after checkout to let us know of items left behind in the room. NOTE: It would be impossible for mobility impaired people to use this hotel because of the many, many steps. If you can climb a few steps some of the rooms are semi-accessible, but there is a full flight of stairs to go down from the lobby to the restaurant where breakfast is served. It appears the buffet breakfast is included in most room rates. Frankly it’s nothing special but was quite acceptable and staff are friendly. Read moreI’ve stayed at this hotel on and off for 40 years and always loved it. We were checked in by an unsmiling man who wanted us out of the way asap as two coach-loads of eastern europeans were arriving. We were lucky to just slip in before them. |This used to be a well run and fashionable hotel, but those days are long gone. There was no drinking water in our shabby room, we had to walk up the street to buy it, as after being ignored for 20 minutes in the bar (while the coach-loads were fed) we gave up trying to get a drink altogether. |The toilets by the bar were disgustingly dirty, which fact was met by a disinterested shrug at reception.|None of us slept, the coach-loads sang loudly outside our window, dogs barked, there was gunfire, and church-bells every 15 minutes ALL night. |We were down to breakfast (included) by 7:30 but the coach-loads had beaten us to it, there was no food left, and what little there was looked absolutely disgusting and unappetizing. We grouchily checked out without breakfast.|The hotel website states there is wifi, but don’t mention that it’s only in the cold uninviting lobby, not in rooms. |This lovely old hotel still has potential but is clearly suffering from from lazy management and bad attitude....
