I am from New Jersey and have been in Taxco for 3 weeks. This is my favorite restaurant by far! All others have been average at best and seem to only rely on their view and ambiance.

El Mesón De Las Ranas is a family owned restaurant and prides itself on quality ingredients. Everything I've tried here is fresh and flavorful and the pasta dishes as well as their enchiladas are to die for!
As for the complaints from past patrons, most of them are very irrational and or misleading. The son as well as the father have been very welcoming and kind to me.
The food does take longer than average to prepare since there is only one cook (The Father) however, I rather wait for a high quality dish than a plate of slop marketed as "traditional" Mexican Cuisine! that only takes ten minutes to prepare! Jaja!
If you are looking for a hearty meal which you can actually enjoy, that leaves you feeling delighted and joyous, I suggest you visit here before going...
Read moreOne of my worst experiences in Mexico. Poor service and high prices in a decadent place. Rude staff who took advantage of us seeing we were foreigners. This is very sad considering that Taxco is such a beautiful and touristic city. Not recommended at all.
