Sands Acapulco Hotel & Bungalows — Hotel in Guerrero

My family spent 4 nights at this hotel in July 2011. To begin with I was annoyed at check-in because there is a 50 peso a day fee for parking. It is not much, but the English version of their website says it is free. ||Upon entering our room we discovered they did not give us 2 double beds as requested, rather a king and two roll aways, making the room very cramped. This was not mentioned at check in either. The air conditioner in our room hardly blew at all, but they did give us a fan upon request. The website also advertises microwaves in the rooms, which there weren't. There was a mini-fridge though.||After our first night we switched rooms because we woke up to the overwhelming smell of sewer. It was not coming from the bathroom, rather the vents. The second room was also cramped, but the a/c worked a little better. ||On the website there are pictures of the play and pool areas. The inflatable slide is not included in the room cost, it's extra. As is the mini golf and bungee. The small waterslide going into the large pool was only functioning two of our four nights. The large play area for the kids is all metal and therefore VERY hot during the day. ||Our first night my husband forgot to turn off our vehicle's lights and the next day we needed a jump. It was in the hotel's secured parking lot, but staff didn't mention the lights being left on to us. The staff was unable to help us with a jump. They didn't even offer information on who to call for a jump. We ended up asking a taxi driver. ||On the positive side, the hotel is located right across the road from the beach. Primero que nada, quiero empezar con que voy a decir muchas veces "agradable". Continúo, el hotel es súper, es muy barato, es bonito y tiene buenas instalaciones, lo recomiendo principalmente porque te la pasas muy bien, ya me había tardado en poner ésta reseña, pero fuí con mi familia hace como 2-3 semanas, y fué bastante agradable, las habitaciones según no estaban barridas, pero no tuve problema, tienen aire acondicionado, hay balcones con mesitas, el problema es que hace mucho calor ya que está la salida del aire acondicionado, pero si se pasa un momento agradable ahí con otra persona, yo comí una pizza ahí con mi hermano y fué muy agradable, hay reseñas de que las camas tienen chinches, pero yo no logré notar ni una, bastante bien, aparte están cómodas, bastante diría yo, hay un closet donde pueden guardar su ropa muy útil, no sé si sea igual en todas las habitaciones, eso sí, los muebles están muy descuidados despintados de las esquinas como si se hubieran desgastado de tanto tocar, y algunos de madera rotos, hay lámparas de cama, les doy un consejo para que no se equivoquen como yo, solo tienen como un tornillo, que se parece que se puede levantar o bajar para apagarlas, pero sólo se tiene que girar en el sentido de las manecillas del reloj, el baño está bien, sólo que el inodoro es muy grande, el lavabo está súper bien, ya hay toallas para secarse, igual la regadera está genial, el agua sale en gotas grandes y se siente muy relajante aparte de que el agua está a temperatura buena y se calienta al instante, es súper agradable, lo malo es que igual está descuidado, el techo del baño es de Unicel y está hacia incompleto, hay partes dónde no hay y pueden caer o salir insectos por ahí, lo bueno fué que no salió ninguno, ya hay jaboncitos en el baño y papel higiénico, un detalle SUPER AGRADABLE y amigable, aunque aún así llevé mi jabón, hasta ahorita tiene bien merecidas las 4 estrellas, yo iba a poner 5 porque iba a dejar pasar todos esos detallitos y me pareció agradable aún así, pero el problema viene ahora, la tv (porque si hay) es de la prehistoria, de verdad, no es smart tv, por lo que no tiene Internet, Netflix o YouTube, nada, es por antena, y sólo se puede ver la aburrida tv abierta, o noticias, creo que no era tan importante pero si era molesto que quería ver mis series y las tuve que ver en el celular, y la característica más terrible, es, el internet, bendito internet, al principio creí que iba a ser bueno, ya que había un papelito con la contraseña y pensé que sería como en otros hoteles que solo te conectas y disfrutas, pero no, al principio la señal era buena, después de un ratito, y de verdad, ratito, la señal bajó a una rayita, y eso era pura suerte, mayormente no se detectaba por mi teléfono, y no era culpa de mi teléfono porque tengo wifi 6e, lo más moderno sin contar el wifi 7, y cuando lo hacía era más lento que nada, apenas 3 megas, muy mal, lo bueno es que como no uso mucho mi teléfono y casi siempre estaba en la playa o en la alberca, porque sí, tiene alberca y es igual muy buena, pero las pocas veces que usaba mi teléfono lo usaba sin internet y con las series o al menos los episodios descargados, lo recomiendo mucho si sólo van a pasar todo el tiempo en familia, desconectados del internet para para tiempo de calidad, y si valoran demasiados los detalles minuciosos probablemente no les agradará los muebles, tampoco les pareciera bien si son exigentes con el internet, pero así para pocos días está sobradisimo, muy recomendado, si pueden quédense aquí, iré a Acapulco muy pronto y me hospedarsé de nuevo aquí, y los señores de limpieza y recepción son super amables y agradables, muy...

I always stay at the Hotel Sands in Acapulco. I like the value and friendliness of the staff. I can stay at the 4-5 star hotels, but I do not get the value. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the hotel. They are clean and friendly. The food is good and the grounds are kept clean.||I usually stay in the main building, but sometimes I might stay in the Bungalows behind the building. They are separate and nice. Good Value for the money. You are right across the street from the beach. Plenty of things to do, since you are in the middle of the beach area.||I have been going to the Hotel Sands since 1982.
