Well actually I have been very disapointed about the hostel,||I was struggeling if to go better to Hostel Tequila or that one, but the recommendations and Fotos were quiet good at Blue Pepper Hostal as well. So I think if you don´t want to go to a good hostel it could be ok. I have been around 10 days there because I arrived for an exchange semester so I didn´t wanted to change with the whole heavy luggage to another place. But the location and the terrace with its alternative paintings are really great! ||||My expierences also varied because first of all the owners weren´t there and later on it got better and the fridge was clean, toilet paper there and the staff bought lockers.||||*All the Fotos, as nearly every photos of buildings and hostels are prepared by photoshop! be aware of this before considering going where look at the fotos if they look "pimped up" **||||1. We haven´t had toilet paper at our toilet for about 3-4 days, even I said 3 times something to the staff they didn´t put something in there so I had to "steal" from other toilets toilet paper...||||2. the conditions of the hostel are pity, there has to be done a lot of stuff: the tiles are everywhere broken, the beds partially as well, the lockers were broken, there is no running hot water in the showers so I had to shower a lot of times in icy cold water, when it´s raining there´s water running out of the loobie´s wall, many lights are broken as well in the bath room so you even can´t see yourself proper in a mirror, the fridge was full and smelling bad so you couldn´t use it at the beginning, couches and chairs were broken/scuffed and worn.||||3. you can´t close your stuff because the/many cupboards with devices for lockers are broken! veeery bad!||||4. in the Lobby were sleeping twice homeless? people- or at least they were relatives of the employees. They even had any luggage and were no travelers, some (poor) looking Mexicans...||||5. It was everything dirty :/ bathroom always dirty, even a cochrache of around 4 cm in the bathroom, the kitchen dirty, the fridge bad smelling and at the beginning it was very full because the restaurant and the employees that are living there use it too.||||6. Lockers and Towels couldn´t be rent as advertised on the website and lobby. Even promoted on the website, the employees didn´t know where and how to take a buses or even how to get to a supermarket xD||||7.! actually I also know someone of my exchange semester that got the offer of an owner to stay a day for free at the hostel when he does a good recommendation at Tripadvisor!!! maybe because of that it has so many good recommendations...||||7. The Hostel has a kind of bar with was nearly never used by travelers. But up till 2-3 a clock it was always very ! loud and the rooms are just over the bar so we couldn´t sleep well, even there were just relatives of the bar/hostel staff and no "real clients". And it was always very loud because of the street noises, and beds vibrated. Also very hot in the room there was just one ventilator for the whole hostel so from one to the other day the ventilator was gone. Also in the rooms are just 2 sockets which is way to less for the whole people to charge...

30 MBP/s Wifi available in common areas and possibly the private rooms on the 2nd floor, Signal is weak on top floor in dorms. (One of the best wifi's I've found at Hostels in GDL, huge plus).

Beds (in the dorms at least) are HORRIBLE. I could feel every spring pushing into me. Might be more comfortable to sleep on the floor. ( - )

Staff is friendly, but each member has to work what seems like a 24 hour shift which means they and their friends occupy the small common area that exists. During cooler/better weather this probably isn't a problem as there is a large outdoor common area to hang out. Right now it is unbearable to be outside.

Cleanliness is good.

Kitchen is ok but not great. There is free water but there is no dispenser apart from a very small compartment in the fridge which would always be empty with more people staying. So you'll be pouring water out of a 20 liter container into a small plastic cup.

There is no free breakfast. The booking sites are all wrong.

Towel rental is 40 Pesos! way too much.

Location is great if you like nice restaurants/cafes and bars/nightlife. If you want to see the sights such as the cathedral staying closer to centro might be better for you. Check out El Rey Mezcaleria (King on google) close by for a great midweek special of 50pesos for a beer and a shot.

All in all I would give it 3.8/5 (but google doesn't give this option. If the beds were improved it would bump it up to 4.5 or 4.6 easily. Worst hostel bed I've ever experienced)

Please give this a thumbs up if you...

I have never had an experience quite like the one I had the night we were going to stay at this hostile. When we walked in there was a male and a female that appeared to be making out on the lounge sofa. This place was advertised as female only. We were aware that the room slept 8 but we were not aware that it was shared with other people. The toilet was disgusting and had vomit on it. I did not expect what I saw there were only bunk beds available only the top beds were available for me and my daughter. One of the bunk bed frames was very shaky. I didn't feel it was safe for my daughter to even try and climb up there. The door for this room did not even close. My daughter myself and my friends all felt like things were crawling on us when we tried to lay down on these beds the sheets were dinghy white. The area itself seems to have a lot of nice nightclubs. Unfortunately we could not enjoy your time there we left an hour and a half...

Amazing host. I’ve stayed at many hostels across Asia, Latin America and Europe; Blue Pepper has the same vibe as a cool Euro hostile. I stayed in a private room. The pricing was perfect for the accommodations. Bathrooms were regularly cleans. Showers Water heated up regular water heated up rather quickly. Check in procedure was easy. Available sightseeing was reasonably price and pleasant, worth every pesos. Luis was very helpful. Make sure you take the Tequila Tour. $550 pesos!

The coworking space is comfortable, and I have utilized it extensively for my remote work. The internet connection is relatively good, and the location is also convenient, with many coffee shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby. The hostel is clean, and I appreciate the volunteers for their hospitality and the good atmosphere they provide.

The positives: Great price, great location, good wifi. The negatives: Dirty rooms, broken windows, bugs in the shower, and the absolute worst bed ever. Creaky, rock-hard, concave, ripped sheets. Got maybe one hour of sleep. Stay somewhere else.
