Casa Pedro Loza — Hotel in Jalisco

This is based simply on booking experience -- which has shown me that I DO NOT ever want to stay at this hotel. I booked the nicest room that Casa Pedro Loza has for two nights in February 2021 as part of an anniversary trip. Due to a change in our flights by the airline (a result of different scheduled, post-COVID) and therefore a change in our needs on the trip, I need to now cancel the nights I booked because I will no longer be in Guadalajara for the dates booked. This is a somewhat normal and reasonable thing that people have happen when booking hotels months in advance. I don't cancel hotel stays often, but have never had an issue when I've tried (though sometimes, of course, it means forfeiting a deposit). ||||In this case, however, I LITERALLY CANNOT GET IN TOUCH WITH THE HOTEL! I have sent 4 different emails since July to two different addresses, called dozens of times literally --probably 50+ phone calls over the months). I have never received a single word in response or a call back. I have used all of the contact info provided publicly on the hotel website, which is the same as the info printed in the confirmation email I received for the reservation. By all accounts, they are projecting online that they are open and taken reservations. But I still cannot get a response about my cancellation. ||||I'm sure the hotel is lovely. But if you're booking during this strange time and want any peace of mind or any option of cancelation or flexibility, don't bother. Not worth the hassle! Now I must move on to contacting my bank and disputing the charge for the room since I have not even been given a re-booking option by the hotel! Not at all the way to run an effective...

My family and I stayed at Casa Pedro Loza for a few days in December. While the gentleman who served breakfast was great, and the house-keepers were great, the front desk staff put us off almost immediately. I felt as though our arrival forced him to pull his nose out of his phone to deal with us, and he wasn't happy about it. Every day thereafter, there he was, staring at his phone with barely an acknowledgement. Now, I know what will be said "it is hard to find good workers these days", and if we didn't stay elsewhere in Guadalajara this trip, maybe I'd buy that. But given we got awesome service at another small hotel, I think it is a malaise of management there. Now, the hotel building is nice, we had no issues with noise or events. The room was... well, OK. The big problem with most of these rooms are the absolutely tiny bathrooms. When your knees hit the wall when sitting on the throne, you know it's too small. On top of that, the water pressure was less than good the first couple days. We had to go to my Mom-in-Law's room to shower properly (she was in room 11, we were in room 3). They replaced the shower head upon our complaints, which helped. Another odd thing was that about four of the many smoke detectors were 'chirping', a sign their batteries were running out, yet nobody seemed to be bothered about that... again, until we complained. I think this hotel has great potential, but if you have stayed at others like it (like the Casa de la Soledad in Morelia), you will need to lower your expectations. Hoy quiero hablar de un esplendoroso y exclusivo lugar de nuestro hermoso Centro Histórico de Guadalajara, su nombre es Casa Pedro Loza y es un escandalosamente Romántico Hotel Boutique que cuenta con 12 habitaciones temáticas, el autor con gran creatividad coloca cada elemento para darle un toque único y muy especial, todas decoradas de una manera distinta, dotándolas de una gran personalidad.

Visitar esta Casa es un sueño, ya que te introduces a una parte importante de la historia y la cultura, no siempre se tiene la oportunidad de dormir y transitar por lugares que fueron habitados por grandes personajes de la historia.

De invaluable valor histórico y con sus respectivos mitos y leyendas, se cree que también este lugar se integra a las conexiones de túneles que servían para trasladarse a varios templos del Centro, como bien sabemos los túneles datan del siglo antepasado y conectaban algunas casonas de personas adineradas y edificios, con varias rutas para que la gente pudiera esconderse o escapar de las guerrillas que había en Guadalajara. Los dueños de las casonas, los personajes importantes de la historia, los religiosos utilizaban este medio para lograrlo.

También se dice Se dice que en esta casa pudo haber nacido el hijo de María Félix, no es extraño que se relacione a esta leyenda del Cine Mexicano con lugares tan exclusivos y de suma elegancia como este.

Desde el ingreso todo fue una gran experiencia, Simei nos recibió muy atento, hicimos el check in y Lety nos acompañó hasta la que sería nuestra habitación número 12, llamada “El Jardín Secreto”, es muy difícil describir la sensación al entrar, tiene un gran espacio con la apariencia de una casa, cuenta con jardín, recibidor, un gran patio, el baño independiente a la regadera, un jacuzzi al centro con veladoras y un techo replegable que funciona automáticamente y que por la noche te deja ver las estrellas, al final el área de descanso, una recamara al subir las escaleras que cuenta con una cama matrimonial, una habitación con todos los servicios, televisión Smart de pantalla plana e infinidad de canales, almohadas muy suaves, el olor de impecable limpieza, todo rodeado de plantas, un espacio para que descanses a plenitud y vivas una eterna luna de miel, con la opción de recibir un masaje que tanto nos hace falta para estar relajados y un tiempo en el jacuzzi admirando el cielo.

Dejamos nuestro equipaje y con nuestro respectivo cubre bocas salimos a tomar fotografías y capturar un poco de todo lo que nos regala este increíble sitio. Dimos una vuelta por su segundo nivel, aquí pasamos por habitaciones como Cielito Lindo, La Dama de Las Camelias, La pieza de las Vírgenes, El Nido de los Sueños, Madame Püle, Bésame Mucho, La Torre Fiel, El Pecado de Oyuki, La Historia de Amor, así que como ven tienen diferentes opciones para elegir.

Por el elevador, pudimos subir hasta el Sky Lounge, seguimos admirando a cada paso que dábamos, desde la terraza, un panorama arquitectónico colonial para cualquier lado que volteáramos, aquí preparan los más glamurosos eventos sociales, familiares, así como para las parejas tan enamoradas como Ustedes y como nosotros, para aniversarios, pedidas de mano y lo que se te ocurra, aquí te lo organizan a tu gusto y a tu capricho, personalmente supero mis expectativas en todos sentidos.

Daniel nos atendió en nuestro desayuno y es muy característica la calidez de cada uno de los integrantes de la familia Casa Pedro Loza. Me encanta que todo el equipo que conforma este Hotel, este ocupado en escuchar cada sugerencia de sus huéspedes para estar en constante mejora, realmente una opción que no te puedes perder, de esta manera ser Turista en tu ciudad, palpar la historia y reescribir la nuestra pasando momentos mágicos con tus seres queridos.
