The hours of researching where to stay paid off. A colonial oasis within a big city. This hotel is for those of us who seek a unique, exclusive, Mexican culture experience, not a cookie cutter box hotel. When the front entry doors open you are transformed to a tranquil ambiance setting that brings peace from any outside stressors, traffic jams, frustrations. It is the colonial architectural design, clean and inviting swimming pool, well maintained landscaping and lush gardens. I am a woman who traveled solo, felt completely safe in the neighborhood and the hotel. Complimentary continental breakfast (fresh baked muffin, fruit plate, coffee) included + optional full breakfast menu available for purchase. No on site restaurant but many restaurants within walking distance and staff called Uber Eats for me on arrival night to eat in the garden. There is a full stocked bar by the pool, what else would one need? The Executive category room was spacious, tastefully appointed, very comfortable bed. Vervan shower and body products added to the luxe treatment.|All of this would not be possible without the accommodation and superior professionalism of the staff. A special shout out to Efrin and Nayeli who answered all of my many questions about what to do, where to go, how to get there. They were available and attentive without being at all intrusive. Very kind, genuine and natural professional employees, not coached and fake.|The biggest problem of this hotel is that you won't want to leave. The posted photos speak...
Read moreJust returned home after 5 days at this hotel. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Let me start off by saying that the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are excellent! Everyone of them! Friendly to all, kind faces, everyone speaks and checks on you, very service oriented. This hotel gets a five star because of them. Next best thing is the back gardens around the pool. Beautiful, tranquil, a paradise. Loved waking up and looking out over it, loved spending evenings out there. Very serene for being in the heart of the city. The location is great! We have stayed in the area before. I would like to mention that I almost didn't book here based upon the pictures advertised. The Spanish Colonial hotel and then seeing victorian furniture inside as part of the decor was almost enough for me to choose somewhere else. Honestly, I wanted to redecorate while I was there the whole place with Spanish Colonial furniture and decor and then retake pictures for the marketing of this place. But I will say it again, I see why it has gotten all 5 stars and it has to be for the staff, the garden with pool and the location/price. We...
Read moreMy husband and I live an hour south of Guadalajara and usually stay at either a colonial hotel near the plaza or one of the modern high-rise hotels when we're in the big city. Hotel Boutique La Mansion Guadalajara is truly a hidden gem in the quiet Chapalita neighborhood, and we will definitely be back. Although this former private home was probably built in the 1940s, when you drive up it feels as though you stepped back in time to a classic English Tudor mansion. There are steps leading up and down to cozy corners and a library. Several rooms have unique patios. There is "cave" below and a lovely garden with a charming pool.|The staff (Luis, Roberto and Diego) made us feel right at home and were there for every need we had. The hotel was quiet this stay and we had a wonderful tour of the property.|Our room was very large with many windows. We were there a few hours before I realized one window was a door that led to a patio!|We highly recommend the breakfast. The cook is great and ready to handle any special requests. Parking is very easy - right on the front lawn. |We already have a room picked out for our...
