I decided to use my points to stay at this hotel. I spent 119,000 to stay for 5 nights. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by the bellhop, who took my bag. I checked in, and was first immediately upgraded to a corner room with floor to ceiling windows everywhere. Then I was also asked if I am willing to change rooms the next day for another upgrade. I immediately told them yes! ||The corner room was very nice with floor to ceiling windows everywhere. The views are amazing and I was able to see them from my bed and bathroom. The TV was large enough with an ample amount of channels to enjoy. The bathroom was clean and luxurious, with a wonderful short and the famous aromatherapy associates amenities. ||When I got upgraded the next day, I had a nice junior suite with a living room, bedroom, and 2 bathrooms. All with floor to ceiling windows with wonderful views of the city. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was so good that I even took a bath in the tub. The showers are more heavenly than the Westin. That living room was nice with a sofa and even dining tables. I also loved that the curtains are electronically controlled by hitting a button. The main challenge that I had with both rooms was the AC. This was a complaint among other reviewers because the thermostat can't be adjusted below 22C. That's because the thermostat is Internet controlled and maybe set by default for cost cutting measures. It wasn't an issue for me as it was cool enough, but others may find it a bit too hot. If you ask the front desk, they should be able to adjust to you. Other than the AC, it was just an amazing and luxurious room! ||The public areas are very nice with lots of artwork. The lobby is small, but nice with a bar attached. The pool, exercise room, and executive lounge are located on floor 14, which are very nice. The pool is a small splash pool, and has a bar area as well. The exercise room had an ample amount of equipment with wonderful views of the city. The executive lounge for platinum or higher members (you can also pay to access it) had a decent amount of breakfast items, snacks, and good appetizers during the evening. I wish they had a bit more selections and one more dessert item, but the quality of food was excellent. Even better was happy hour from 7 to 9, with unlimited complimentary alcoholic drinks. I did try the agave restaurant one day and the food was good for the price paid. The hotel has only 2 elevators for 15 floors, but I didn't have to wait too long to get one. I will say though when going on the elevator, I can feel asleep as the music played in the elevator is new age (spa) music. Same in the executive lounge too!||The service is definitely JW quality. The staff is very helpful and attentive. A week before I checked in, the concierge, Christian, booked a reservation for me to visit Mazamitla. The executive lounge attendants, Giovanni, and Jeanette, were so helpful to me. I also saw one guest who came a little after happy hour and was a bit disappointed to see they ran out of fish, and the staff immediately got some for him to enjoy. I also saw one of the bellhops rushed to get the bags before the guest brought them to the lobby. The staff are very caring to the guests. ||This is definitely one of the most luxurious hotels in Guadalajara. It can get costly if you pay in cash, but you can get great deals using points. This is definitely the hotel to stay for living in luxury with the...
Read moreI recently had the privilege of staying at this JW Marriott for my 40th birthday celebration, and it was amazing from start to finish. Every moment of my stay was enjoyable, and the hotel itself was absolutely breathtaking. The rooftop pool was a definite highlight, and the entire property was just stunning.
What truly made my stay memorable was the incredible service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, accommodating, and always ready to help, especially since we don’t speak Spanish. Their kindness made everything so much easier.
I have to give a special mention to Christian, the concierge, who went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration unforgettable. This past year was incredibly difficult for me, so being able to celebrate my 40th felt like a miracle. While we originally planned to stay in the presidential suite for all three nights, we were only able to stay there for one. However, that one night was magical.
The presidential suite was absolutely stunning—jaw-dropping, even. It’s an experience I will never forget. Christian and his team made it even better by decorating the room with balloons, cake, charcuterie, and champagne. It was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture that made me feel so special and appreciated.
From check-in to checkout, the entire team ensured my stay was perfect. Everyone was so kind, and the attention to detail was impressive. While I’ve always been loyal to Marriott, I had started leaning toward Hyatt after a few less-than-stellar experiences. This stay completely restored my faith in Marriott—it reminded me why I’ve loved staying with them for so many years.
The rooms were spotless, the amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect—close to a beautiful mall and great restaurants, including some right next door. The only downside was the room service, which could have been better. That said, it was such a minor issue compared to the overall experience.
I cannot thank the JW Marriott team enough for making my 40th birthday so special. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone—it’s truly an amazing place with even better people. Thank you to Christian and the entire team for giving me a birthday I will...
Read moreHello I would like to express my gratitude for the staff at the JW Marriott in Guadalajara.
We arrived late at night and Juan was super attentive and friendly. He took the time to make sure we were checked in and knew everything out the hotel. Most of the time the night shift front desk folks are not as informative as the day shift, but Juan is the exception. He made sure we had everything we needed to settle in.
Fatima who worked in the mornings was also amazing. She has such a great sense of humor and is so friendly. She is a very welcoming face to make everyone feel at home.
The restaurant staff at dinner and breakfast were also great. The evening staff especially, were extremely friendly and great at making sure the dinners were excellent. They all went out of the way to make us comfortable. One of the guys at night even was going to bring us a traditional dessert from his neighborhood because it wasn’t served in the hotel.
One improvement I would suggest would be to have a break between breakfast service and brunch on Sunday like many other hotels we have stayed at and lived before. We came as they were starting to switch over and there weren’t breakfast items left and I didn’t want ceviche at 10:00 in the mornin. Instead of helping the guests, everyone was busy setting up for brunch. If Sunday was my only breakfast I would never have come back. Also I was disappointed to only have conchas one day. It’s always a treat to stay in a Mexican hotel and have fresh conchas with breakfast.
Lastly I would like to thank Christian the concierge for all of his help to arrange all of our dinner and travel while at the hotel. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the best restaurants and also very organized! He took care of all of the reservations and sent me a list of dates and times for everything. I can’t thank him enough for helping to ensure we had a great time for our first visit to Guadalajara.
Thank you to all of the staff at the JW for all of their help and...
