Crowne Plaza Monterrey by IHG — Hotel in Nuevo León

Don't waste a penny at this hotel.

1. The heater didn't work in our 'executive suite' (ac blows full blast though)
2. The restroom makeup mirror popped right off and broke as soon as I touched it
3. You will not receive hot water showers unless you bathe in the early morning hours when everyone is fast asleep. If you shower in the evenings it's lukewarm because it's a prime time the entire hotel showers apparently
4. Service at the restaurant takes forever, literally. If you order something, it takes nearly an hour just to get to you. Room service last night took 2.5hrs
5. Ceilings are falling apart in parts of the hotel & covered by cloth.
6. No notification upon booking that the hotel pool (which is the primary selling point on the site) was out of order and dry as a dessert.
7. Executive suite size is barely that much bigger than a standard Room. Save your $.
8. When they cut their melons (fruits) they're using a knife that has chopped up vegetables. The scent & taste of the watermelon was VERY strong of onion.
9. The continental breakfast foods were bland, less ripened fruit, watery, stale or soggy. Just pay the $18 extra to get the fresh cooked breakfast in the restaurant seating area. 10)The door inside my hotel suite that connected to another room stayed locked of course. It's paper thin because at 3am we can hear our neighbors alarms going off, incoming calls, and their child screaming bloody murder at random hours of the night and morning. Oh and after room service cleaned up our suite for the day they left the connecting room door UNLOCKED and our neighbor just WALKED into OUR room unannounced where my daughter and I were. He saw my husband, freaked out and apologized and closed the door. So if you get room service, make sure that connecting door inside your room is LOCKED at all times when you get back to your room.

Only positives I can say are:

1. Only benefit to an executive suite is that it allowed access to the 14th floor club lounge that DID provide fresh free fruit, breads, coffee and drinks after 6am. 2)The rooms were clean, including the lounge.
2. It is conveniently located in the hub of the city and walking distance from Hidalgo shopping center.
3. The server, 'Huero' at the restaurant is the only one that provided amazing service. It was to the point anytime we went to the restaurant we would ask only for him. Because our experience with room service or other servers was terrible.

AGAIN. Don't waste...

The worst experience EVER from start to finish!|Came here for Mexio Metal Festival|Waited 3 hours for lugge (not hotels fault)|Check in at hotel was absolutely atrocious, The staff appeared inexperienced, people sitting at beautiful tables eating no more then 20 feet from us, i could of just sat with them till they finished processing our checkin!|Huge language barrier, ( not hotels fault but some sorta translation would been good)|We were told we had to move rooms next day as one was on points and rest of was on CC, for the exact room type so i said ya no not happening! We went to the mini lounge of 6 chairs (bartending staff AMAZING) only to be told we cant charge to our room, back to desk we go to be told oh we have cc on file but i need to see it, not my problem, you got it at check in, then she said my husbands passport was reported lost/damaged. But finally got that sorted out ! (Now we are 3 hours into our hotel stay) we have no hot water and safe does not work!|Go to order food for 1 clubhouse 1 hamburger (cooked well) 1 soup|Burger went back raw and clubhouse didnt show up but on the ticket they had one clubhouse and one soup 🤦🏼‍♀️.|All in All what a effen disaster |This is only the first nite!!!!!! Good afternoon, it's a shame to me to write this, but this is the worst treatment I had received in a IHG Hotel.

When I made the check in I was not recognized as a Spire Elite member and the front desk boy didn't offer me anything as the personnel use to do, yes I know, that's not a big deal, I understand, it's just a comment.

The problem was when I tried to order something to room service, in my room the phone didn't work, so, I went to the reception to try to order something, I asked to the receptionist boy how I can order to room service, the boy just ignore me, so I asked for a second time, I explain to him about the phone and he told me "You can go to your room and bring the menu with you and call from here", I said, "Sorry but I'm in the 12th floor, it's 11:00 pm and it's not my fault if the phone doesn't work, that's why I'm here, could you please call someone to bring a menu?" He ignore me again...so, I asked to him #yes, again# for assistance, he just gave me the phone without saying anything, and I asked to the person in the line for a menu, he told me ok and I wait for the menu #than finally he gave me# , when I hang up the phone, I said thank you to the receptionist boy again and guess what? Yes, he ignore me. Then my last question to the receptionist boy was, at what time the bar close? He said "I don't know", I said thank you, good night...and I bet you know what he said...of course nothing. I have stayed at IHG Hotels around the world...Mexico, USA, London, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Berlin, Athens, Rome, etc, etc., and I never have been treated like this...the attitude of the guy was so rude, neither guest deserve to be treated like this.
