I stayed in Hotel Kavia Monterrey for 4 nights in October 2021.||The hotel is located very centrally in Monterrey, 10 Mins walk from the old quarter (barrio antiguo) which has many small shops and rooftop cafes.||The hotel has a very nice terrace on the fourth floor overlooking the city - absolutely perfect for breakfast and a coffee whilst enjoying the view.||The rooms are nice and clean with a big television, unfortunately without a fridge.||I paid around 42 USD for a double room with two queen beds - very reasonably priced. ||My only negative comments would be that the acoustics are quite bad. The walls are basically cardboard and you can hear everything that happens in the hallway and the adjacent rooms. This was quite annoying as I am a very light sleeper and had to use earplugs to avoid being woken up at night. Also the air condition was quite noisy with a loud fan which was bothersome.||||Pros:||- Very cheap rates - super good value for money||- Amazing terrace with view over the city and Chipinque mountains||- Clean rooms ||- Very large floor to ceiling windows providing a stunning city/mountain view from the room - see photo (ask for room with view!)||||Cons:||- Terrible acoustics - not for light sleepers||- Noisy...
Read moreWell... how to start.... we stayed there for 9 days... I requested a room months before with a specific view, and they gave us they one they wanted or available... then place was dirt on floor and walls, bathroom door was broken but they fixed right away... not the internet, we spend the WHOLE week and the internet never worked until the last day... if they give you a room on the first floors you can hear the music from the restaurant-cantina next door, also the entrance to hotel is an elevator directly from parking lot and with some uneven steps... It's not so good access if you have a wheelchair... then hardly hot water... towels look very old, I hate bathroom sink since you don't have space around to put your bathroom items. Iron didn't work, but they replaced quickly, our room key were unprogrammed daily !!! So every day you have to waste time doing line at the front desk so your key works, they said parking is free but they make you paid at the exit, I can go with a lot more details but we definitely we won't back there... we will be back to another cose buy that is way better... we tried to give a try to this one because it is a new one .. so...
Read moreWent in for one night only attending a business talk in Monterrey. Rooms are available starting 15:00 so I had to wait / work since 10:00 at the lobby that had no A/C and roasting at 35ºC plus 70% humidity.. At the lobby most of the electric outlets are non functional so I requested an extension I could use to connect my hardware and the only one they had wasn’t working either. No options so had to walk 3 blocks to buy one out of my own pocket. | |The front desk staff does very little to help ar make things easier. All answers start with a “no”.||Once room was available I couldn’t take of my shoes off and walk bare footed as the floor was dirty with some kind of gummy thing over it. |Bedding was OK and also the A/C but towels were very worn-out. ||Was informed that lobby level cafeteria was 24 hour service. Not true, on Friday morning checking out at 05:00 it was not available. |An extra detail, the pavement on the street curbside is being rebuilt and it’s messy and dangerous to walk and no warning or easy path enabled. |Counter||Will let my client and his travel agency...
