Casa Karma — Hotel in Oaxaca

I have stayed at this place both short term, and long term and absolutely love it. You won’t find a room like this for this price in La Punta.

Ivan and Maria who run this work so hard to make sure your room perfect on arrival and will go above and beyond for any request.

The location is perfect. Walk outside and take a few steps round the corner and you can see the sea. Next to all the local bars and restaurants of La Punta. It’s across the road from a shop as well. And close enough to main road to get a collectivo to town or zicatela where all the clubs are.

HELL … the owner confirmed that they would meet us at 3pm to check in (met with gates that needed a key to enter) after waiting on the street in 33 degree heat with no shade until 3.35pm no one had shown up to check us in. another guest staying at the establishment had to contact the owner and allowed us entrance (room unlocked with key in door). our room supposedly had ‘aircon’… it was a glorified fan which pumped more hot air into the room than cold.. shared bathrooms were not cleaned by a cleaner and trash cans were overflowing with feces soiled tissue and smelt horrific. would NEVER stay here again, our stay...

This place is HELL. Horrible and never got our refund and argued a ton via booking. It was so hot and so incredibly noisy and so full of mosquitoes—it was a nightmare. We had the worst sleep in years. Our room was right under the roof, outside is a junction after a hill and Mexican trucks are LOUD going up that hill. The walls are paper thin, the heat combined with the mosquitoes horrible. The beds are old and very uncomfortable. The sheets must be from 1960. We had booked for a longer stay and wanted to cancel.
