Punta Brasas — Restaurant in Oaxaca

I was so excited for my meal here but was disappointed.

I ordered a cocktail, the Cesar salad, and the ribeye.

The cocktail was delicious! Lots of fresh fruit and mezcal.

The Cesar salad comes with chicken, but they were out, mine came with shrimp instead. The salad was very good! I had to ask for dressing. I guess it doesn't come with it?

The ribeye comes with choice of two items: guacamole, fries, salad, or pasta. I'd ordered the salad so I opted for double pasta with my dinner. I was told that the pasta didn't come with sauce but was able to get mine with a cheese sauce.

My Spanish is bad but I'd been VERY clear no onions/ "sin cebollas" for everything, it's one phrase I have down. The server had understood or so I thought. The pasta had so many onions! When my dinner arrived there was pasta and salad on my plate instead of the double pasta too. They brought out the other pasta before I left.

The ribeye didn't have much flavor, it wasn't bad, just bland.

The ambience is nice, great little view from the rooftop, and lots of flowers on the walk up. The staff is friendly. Not a bad place, just wasn't what I'd expected, especially...

EXTREMELY overpriced. The French fries were like Six Flags fair fries. This was highly disappointing. I thought this place was gourmet. I mean $120 peso for some French fries that were in a freezer bag this morning is insane. I was hoping the main course would win me over... The food was delicious, and beautiful place with tables in 2nd and 3rd floor. We ordered Hamburger especial de la casa and filete with pineapple juice, the juice it’s just remarkable, so good that even had little pieces if pineapple inside, the hamburger was excellent, perfect size and fresh ingredients, filete was fish awesome as well....
