Stay somewhere else. Every single other place on the entire coast will provide you with a mosquito net, or a screened in room. There is ZERO protection from mosquitoes here...and they don't care. You WILL be chewed to pieces at night. Period. There is no escape. Our friend even left at 11:30 p.m. for another hotel as it is impossible to sleep at this one. And...they don't care. No refunds. No apologies. Nothing but absolute negligence. The manager does not give a rat's * that you couldn't sleep at all.
He also doesn't care if you were provided with blood-stained sheets. The beds come complete with bloody evidence of the last guests' mosquito war. Blood stains on every pillow and sheet from previous splattings. Lovely.
Also...they sell nothing. No water. No beer. No food. Nothing. They have a pool full of HOT water with enough chlorine to kill not just bacteria, but your entire desire to swim.
If you have kids, they will likely fall off of any/every balcony. They are dangerous and built with one, single, four-foot-high railing. Super bad for small kids.

Read moreVery nice hotel, all necessary amenities to stay comfortable and in a complete relaxation, rooms are spacious and super clean, hot water and air conditioner, is in the middle of the jungle, 3 minutes walk to Playa del Amor. We seated in the balcony and enjoyed the scenery and landscape, which is in the middle of the jungle, away from any noise, the staff is super friendly, great customer service, is the paradise we were looking for. I suggest to check-in during front desk hours because the place is hard to find if is the first time going there, I attached some pics of the location and to the trail to get to Playa del amor. This hotel has no room service, but there's a convenient store "Abarrotes Betty" just by the entrance where you can buy anything you need for your stay, there are also local family owned restaurants all around that area serving great food, this place is a must if you visit Zipolite, I will definitely come back soon!!! Oh, for those that are worried about the unsafe handrails for kids, this hotel is only for people 17 years or older, so...
Read moreGood hotel. Basic facilities. Room very bare but clean. Bed was firm which I like. We had no hot water for first three nights but as soon as I mentioned it to reception it was fixed. Lots of rules to read/ sign for on check in which I found a bit peculiar- felt like being at school. |Ver helpful receptionist who booked our onward taxi. |It is very close to playa amor- the unofficial gay beach. However, in our experience, playa amor is an evening thing for sunset and there is a much more gay vibe during the day at the very far end of the beach in front of El Alquimiste. When we return to Zipolite we would definitely stay somewhere more central, this beach was away from...
