The owner/manager/hostess is super kind and calm. She speaks English, Spanish and her native European language. She did a great job of communication via WhatsApp and was assuring and helpful. As far as the property, keep your expectations in line with cost and you should be happy. The community area is pleasant. The internet worked very good. They accept credit cards. Her friendly dogs and cats run free which for me was entertainment and not a problem. Each room is unique. Some with bathroom inside and some with bathroom outside of your room. Is it right for you? Well you are an uptight perfectionist who expects the Marriott its not for you. You might see a bug (beds have mosquito nets to help) you might hear noise exterior to the property (trucks, dogs, roosters but they can’t control that) not on beach (one block away) no pool, no restaurant, no air conditioning, no hot water, no TV, but I was not bothered by any of those things things. I feel I got a nice authentic Mexico beach experience at a low price, met a kind person and would happily go back. It is on the far south end of Zipolite, so its about 15 minute walk to the main tourist area but its a walk on a pleasant beach which I enjoyed and it felt safe, if that’s not for you its a cheap cab ride. By the standards of Zipolite it was cleaner than many with a friendlier vibe than all others. Overall, with the right attitude and managed expectations an experience which is more memorable than a typical hotel. Glad I stayed here, hope I provided objective info to help you know if it fits your needs. Thank you...
Read moreCastillo Oasis is an amazing place to stay. Corrina, the owner/manager is the finest of hosts and has a vast knowledge of the area, all it has to offer, and an eagerness to make your stay the absolute best. If you are looking for the all night beach party, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a very relaxed, very clean, secure, and inviting atmosphere then you should stay at Castillo Oasis. It feels more like a comfortable home with friends than anything else.
This hotel is located close to both the main beach, Playa Zipolite, and the smaller, more romantic, Playa Del Amor. And if you do like the party atmosphere at your leisure, those places are about a 15 minute walk up the beach.
I have nothing negative to say about my stay at Castillo Oasis. It's a wonderful place and I can't...
Read moreThis is one of those gems that I jealously don't really want to review because it is such a gem, but it is truly a remarkable paradise on the beach. We were lucky to stay in three different rooms as we moved around the area a lot and they are all charming, cosy and clean. There is everything from a small room with a double bed to a private room with space for 6 and even a tower room with a view over the trees. If you go you will be warmly greeted and either welcomed to chat during your encounters with others or left to the peace of reading a book in a hammock. I was surprised at first not to have hot water, but this soon became moot as the weather in Zipolite is so warm it is...
