Been staying at this hotel for several years after trying most of the hotels in Tehuacan (I come every month for business). Without a doubt the best hotel in Tehuacan and located 2 blocks from the center square and cathedral. The rooms are very modern with flat screen TV's (lot's of movie channels in English and CNN), very good wifi reception and even Rainwater shower heads. The beds are very comfortable and each room has air conditioning which is great as it is often rather hot in this part of Mexico.||||The hotel has a full service restaurant and on whole the food is very good with breakfast being the best of the 3 meals - Mexican buffet and menu orders. My favorite is the egg-white omelet with Oaxaca cheese and bacon. For lunch or dinner, the soups are fantastic. Most of the waiters and staff speak English or can at least figure out what you are saying. The bar is a great meeting place for people in the hotel and locals as well. they often have live music and sometimes it is fun to order dinner or appetizers at the bar. Chips and guacamole are a must!||||The architecture of the building is very interesting and the grounds are peaceful and relaxing. There are multiple fountains and a beautiful water sculpture in the courtyard. The 4th floor has an exercise room with stationary bikes and treadmills. This is also the area where you can get a message at night for around $20. At nights, the surrounding streets are full of good...

Read moreI stayed 3 nights at the Casa Real in Tehuacan in November of 2013, paying with my credit card (VISA, Capital One.) I had held this card for a year, using it frequently in the USA, without problems. Two days after charging my bill at this hotel, Capital One notified me that they had suspended the card because someone was phoning them to change my mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. The next day someone charged $ 11,000 USD at an online store in Los Angeles, USA. I worked with VISA and the charges were removed from my account. I think it is likely that someone associated with this hotel used my card number and name to commit this fraud. I dealt only with the woman at the registration desk, who seemed friendly and efficient, but obviously others at the hotel had access to this information, and also perhaps other companies which process charges for hotels would have the information. I can only urge everyone to watch their charge card bills carefully if they use a charge card at this hotel. I must add that I found the room clean, quiet and well equipped, had no problems while staying here, only this card fraud, which became a problem since I lost the use of the card while here in Mexico 5...
