Edit: Initially I rated this resort 5 stars. However, shortly after returning home, I started receiving nonstop marketing calls from Vidanta resorts. I'm talking like 5-10 calls per week; it's ridiculous. They use different U.S. numbers, so they are very difficult to screen or block, and they are all in Spanish. When you ask to be taken off their list, they simply hang up and call back later. Repeat ad nauseum. It has become so annoying that I now dread my phone ringing because I already know who it is, but I can't just ignore calls due to my work. I will continue to reduce my rating over time until the calls stop. It's truly a shame. What started as a great experience with this brand has become tarnished. Extremely beautiful property with an amazing staff. Not once did I deal with anyone who wasn’t very friendly and helpful! A few notes: Be prepared to walk. The Bliss buildings are probably 10-15 minutes walk from anywhere you want to go. I didn’t mind it at all since the pathways are all well maintained in a pretty jungle setting. I saw quati, raccoons, lizards, iguanas, and interesting birds on the daily. It’s good to get a little exercise anyhow. It was a pain to get back and forth to my rental car at the central lobby. You will have to walk to the shuttle station, then wait for a shuttle. You will have to allot probably 20-30 minutes just to get to your vehicle. Check-in was a little confusing. This place is HUGE. Expect to be handed off to 3-5 people during check-in as you make your way to the lobby then to your room. After a day you will get your bearings. Those were my only semi-negatives. I would definitely stay here again. The room was updated and beautiful and I can’t stress enough how amazing the staff was. I would recommend bringing groceries and cooking yourself to save a little money on the pricey restaurant options they have on property. Oh! Cirque du Soleil was a little pricey but worth the experience. Show to the theater area a little early and enjoy a drink in the beautiful bar area. They had live music and the ambiance at night was amazing. So romantic!

The only thing this place has going for it is the wonderful staff. The mgmt does not care about you or your vacation, only about how much more $$$ they can squeeze out of you on the over inflated food and drink prices. You must put a recommended $500-$1000 hold on your cc because the have a "no cash" policy, they also do not inform you of a 3% service charge on all food and beverages, i.e. mandatory tipping. I always tip 20% to MY server in cash but this bs mandatory tipping charge is BS and screws the employees into selling you more not providing good service. Oh and did I mention the mysterious resort fees charged per person per day and "donation" charge that shows up on your bill? Its bad enough you get jumped by timeshare sales people poseing as concierge to "help" you and show you around. It's only to get you to a presentation. Finally, there were loud construction crews from 7 am to 11PM!!! Right outside our window. I'm sorry but after planning this trip for 2 years listening to a bulldozer, hammering and a backup beeper after 10pm is just more than I can take. This place is an oversized and overpriced cruise ship from which there is no escape. Did I mention they make it extremely difficult for you to leave unless you book on of their tours? Seriously......the drinks are not strong enough to put up with this BS for a week. I cant wait to leave. Here's a pic of the view from my room taken at 10pm. I wish it had volume.

I cannot be happier with this hotel, it got 5 stars out of 5 and I highly recommend it. As a very well traveled person, here is my honest review for future travelers.|Traveled in May 2024.|The good:|This was my first time at a vidanta resort and they left a very very great experience in my mind, something I never experienced before.|This hotel has extremely GREAT customer service, we never saw a bad attitude or face, everyone was more than eager to assist at all times, perfect coordination to bring our rental car up front for us to leave the property several times a day, perfect transportation from our room to central lobby with no more than 3 minutes wait time.|The whole compound was super clean including restrooms around, I checked several times and never disappointed.|Pool areas very clean and plenty of vegetation, beds and umbrellas to rest. |Our room was super cold and very big and those people cleaned it not once but twice a day. Room had all necessary to cook in.|When we checked in they brought all our stuff to the room in 6 minutes after we arrived to the room, delightful.|I sincerely wished I wouldn’t known about these resorts before purchasing my timeshare in Hawaii but now I know I might consider purchase one here.|They were constantly cleaning the seaweed at the beach and refreshing the area.|All towels were high cotton quality and the body lotion and shampoo were extremely pleasant I ended up bringing one bottle home.|They gave us some chocolate strawberries as a welcome gift and we loved it.|They had ice machine on the same floor which was very convenient and our check out took literally 3:45 minutes which was GREAT.|Plenty of extra pillows and blankets for all of us.|My special thanks to our cleaning lady named LANDI since she was extremely good cleaning our room at the Bliss #3820.|We had a very early flight so they coordinated our pick up from the room at 4:20 and guess what???? They were knocking at the door at 4:20 just like I like it.|The bad:|Absolutely nothing I can think of and I am those travelers who spot everything and writes it all.|The could do better:|Maybe strike a deal with the circus people so they can give us some discounts for large families, we didn’t get the chance to go because of the high prices.|Have a line to get into the resort for cars that have tags already, Saturday night was too much wait at the door because they had only one line and we had vans full of check in people in front of us.|Maybe consider lowering prices of things inside the resort, we had a car so it didn’t affect us but they were about 30-40% higher than outside the compound.||I have extensive travels in over 46 countries and I can tell you this hotel was one of my small number of favorite ones, RECOMMENDED it by all means.|It won’t be the last time we will visit.|Thank you ALL at Vidanta resorts, you...

I reserved a 2-bedroom unit at The Bliss in Vidanta Cancun, excited for a relaxing getaway after a 5-hour flight. Upon arrival, I was informed that I had been "upgraded" to the Grand Mayan, only to discover that this so-called upgrade was a 1-bedroom unit in a building that was completely uninhabitable.||||The trouble began immediately. Vidanta's resort uses trams to transport guests from the main lobby to the hotel lobbies, but I was told the tram could not accommodate luggage. My belongings were placed in a locked bellman cart with assurances they’d be delivered to my room within 30 minutes. Over an hour later, my luggage was still missing.||||Upon reaching the hotel lobby, I was hit with an overwhelming stench of mold and mildew. Despite arriving several hours after check-in, my room was not ready. I decided to grab a meal, but the poor signage and incorrect directions from three staff members left me wandering in the dark for 25 minutes before finally finding the restaurant. Along the way, I encountered other lost and frustrated guests.||||After dinner, I returned to check in, only to face my "upgraded" accommodations at the Grand Mayan. As soon as I opened the door, the overpowering smell of mildew and mold forced me to step outside for air. I have respiratory issues and allergies, and within minutes, my throat was itching, my nose was congested, and I was constantly blowing my nose. I immediately requested a room change, but repeated calls to the front desk either went unanswered or left me on hold indefinitely.||||My chance I found my luggage unattended in a random corner of the property. Once back in my room, I was horrified by its condition: cracked plaster, filthy kitchen appliances, and upholstery so stained and tattered it looked like it had never been cleaned. The room was an utter disaster. I immediately booked a room at another hotel. Because, the thought of sleeping at this hotel was unbearable. I thought about sleeping on the balcony, but it was on the first floor, making it unsafe. Desperate, I lined the bed with towels, covered my face with a blanket I brought from home, and stayed on the phone with my boyfriend all night.||||The next morning, I woke up at 6:00 am with swollen eyes and worsening respiratory issues. I left for the other hotel even though it wouldn’t be available until later that day.||||At checkout, I explained my situation to the receptionist, who casually suggested I use an inhaler or see the resort doctor. This was not a solution for the serious health risks posed by the mold and mildew. I filed a complaint before leaving and have continued to experience symptoms even days later. ||||This experience was an absolute nightmare. Vidanta Cancun was unsanitary, poorly managed, and unsafe. Do NOT stay here. No one should be subjected to...
