Well. I want to be sure to say that both the location of the restaurant near the beach and the wonderful servers were great. And, when we arrived at the resort and had a dinner for our first meal, I enjoyed it tremendously. Went downhill from there...
This restaurant is called Havana Moon. If they stick to a menu selection they know and understand that would work well. I read other reviews that stated that their party didn't get good service. I have no complaint about staff service.
Here's my issue: A grilled skirt steak with vegetables and "crispy" noodles with a dark soy sauce. Not one self respecting Asian cook would "drown" a dish with a ridiculous amount of dark soy! Quite honestly if I had taken a picture at the time, you would comprehend just how much super strong soy sauce was poured on this dish!
The dish was inedible and was sent back to the kitchen plus I ensured that we were not charged the over $40 Cdn. that it was supposedly "worth" which it was NOT! So now, I have to add that I gave the management at Vidanta Mayan Palace and Vidanta an opportunity to get back to me on this issue, all they did was refund my 2 meals which were too expensive and unacceptable.
No indication that they would change anything despite the fact that this particular restaurant has a prime location on the high end resort and comes up very very short! Very disappointing!
Bottom line: Don't offer menu items that you have no idea of how to cook. And management? Don't respond with your standard line because past complaints have already demonstrated that you don't do anything to change the problems....
Read moreI graded this based on its full potential. The buffet here was well stocked, and service was provided with a smile.
The beach itself is where the potential comes in. There is lots of seaweed here in this beach as well as surrounding beaches. As a result, the beach is closed to visitors.
The resort that houses Havana Moon Beach is another story. Though the resort is nice, transportation within the resort can affect the mood of your vacation.
This Resort, like others in the area, are multi lobbied resorts. In other words, there are several Resort buildings on the same property.
Each Resort has their own main lobby. Consequently, the further you are from the main Central Lobby, the greater your chances are of experiencing Transportation (within the resort) headaches.
This is my and my family's first visit to Cancun. Knowing what I do now, I could definitely stay here again however, I would book closer to the central Lobby. Oh! And all...
Read moreThis place had my blood boiling upon my first visit here. So why did I come back? Because the manger said he would make the next grand and he definitely. The first it was my birthday 3/18 . The waiter didn’t announce himself. We had to ask if he was our waiter. We didn’t receive our meals for about 45 min . We didn’t receive any water after the first time. We asked for more bread at least while we were waiting and nothing came us. I was so angry at the service and all the guy said was nothing. He looked at us and smirked like it was funny. I immediately asked to speak to his manager and he asked us to come another day. The second visit . I HAD DAVID, a great waiter, who shared in detail about the food we were going receive, he was always checking on us. The manger had the live band sing me a song for my birthday, the birthday pie was delicious. Every thing was done right. Thank you for making this experience up to me. I feel amazing...
