Salum — Attraction in Quintana Roo

Such a beautiful concept. A spacious outdoor fancy restaurant doors court. It’s about five restaurants/kitchens in one whole setting. If you want tacos but your partner wants sushi this is the place to eat. Besides the breathtaking scenery that sounds you, the food that’s incredible, the service is just outstanding. Everyone is just so pleasant and so patient with even the rudest customer (observed from afar). There’s live music at night near the stairs, the decorations are full of culture, there’s beautiful lights everywhere, swings that are above little pools, hammocks, sand/beach seating, restaurant seating, or bar seats available. Posted some pictures of the food (forgot to take them before digging in). From experience ribs are good if you aren’t coming from a rib state, the steak alambre with cheese get right now, onion rings are probably the best in the whole world, fries are too, burgers are delicious but the bun looks like everything seasoning on it but it’s not promise, fish is good, and the drinks i mean come on you’re on vacation get it all! In the end definitely eat here at some point or a couple...

We’ve been going to Salum for years. The food is good the kids love it. There’s a good selection of things to eat from sushi to sashimi tacos pizza salad you name it.. the best part about it is the food is good and it’s not your typical “resort” type food. It’s actually quality.

The desserts are also very good. My wife celebrated her birthday and the dessert they brought her was delicious.

All of this not to mention, they had a great drink selection.

The best part about this place is the ambience you have some tables that are covered and in more of a restaurant setting and then just 100 or 200 feet away you have tables and other seating options in the sand near the beach with lights hanging above you and the ocean breeze Keeping you nice and cool in the evenings.

By the way, if you like good music, they have a great selection of good music while you’re enjoying your food. I just can’t recommend this place anymore than I already have. It’s great.

Salum means 'ocean waves in motion' and that is so accurate for this place!

We had dinner here the first night of our honeymoon so take this review in stride as we were happy to be married and on our honeymoon and traveling out of the country after 15 months of pandemic!! This is also the main casual restaurant area for the Vidanta Resort so you could eat here every night and have something different.

What we loved: the layout of the seating and the different restaurants. It felt so welcoming and fun! we LOVED the various guacamole and salsas yummy and fun cocktails! fun, various seating areas: by a fountain, in the sand under lights, etc. walking around above the area in the marketplace in the shops and listening to live music

What we didn't love: the sushi was meh. And took forever to get. one night the service was bad, it was 9pm on a Sunday and the whole place seemed busier than they expected or perhaps they were understaffed. Our server was scarce and seemed stressed out the few times he was at the table
