My wife and I stayed at Hotel Casa Blanca 7 for 7 nights. The hotel is in a great location in San Miguel de Allende. It is located across from the Church of San Francisco and is a couple blocks from the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel. ||||You enter the hotel through large wooden doors and then immediately see the lovely courtyard with fountains up a few stairs. The ambiance of the hotel is very stylish and serene. The staff are all welcoming and eager to be of assistance. The front desk staff speak excellent English, and they warmly greeted us each time we arrived or departed. ||||Our room was a Deluxe Suite, which was on the second floor. There is no elevator, but staff carried our bags. We did not have windows to the street, but had floor to ceiling windows to the interior courtyard, which let in plenty of light. There are black out curtains, so it is also possible to darken the room. Despite being on a busy street, we didn’t hear any traffic noise in our room. We did hear occasional church bells and there were fireworks a couple times. We could hear what we assumed were laundry dryer vents at times (several vents are on the roof), which wasn’t too bad but did disturb the peace somewhat. ||||Rooms 6-10 are on the second floor, which is the same floor as the rooftop restaurant. However, there is a locking door that separates the rooms from the restaurant area, which is on the other side of the building. We did not hear any restaurant noise while we were in our room. ||||Our bed was very comfortable and the bedding is top notch. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks and a large shower with rainfall shower head and handheld shower. Towels are thick and absorbent and nice bathrobes were provided. The toiletries are spa quality and smell great. Two bottles of water were replenished daily. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Our room was always cleaned while we were out exploring. ||||The AC worked well, and there was also a gas fireplace in the room.||||The only complaint about the Deluxe Suite is the lack of a chair, other then the desk chair. ||||The rooftop restaurant is a very nice place to start the day with the complimentary breakfast. There are about 10 different breakfast options. Most days we opted for the huge, gorgeous bowl of fruit, which was served with yogurt, honey, and granola toppings. The restaurant staff are efficient and friendly. ||||We had a lovely and relaxing stay at...

Read moreSuperb butique hotel in the heart of the tiny gem of a town San Miguel de Allende. ||OUR ROOM: increadible old fashioned dwelling with thick walls, giant glass door, and wood beam 8 meter tall (~26.24 feet !) ceiling. A spectacular bathroom is half the size of the dwellibg and features modern multihead shower, marble sinks, a lovely retro-style bathtub, and a skylight. Waist high king size bed comes with two obligatory foot stools.||STAFF: friendly, competent, and attentive to guests needs.||FOOD: |(1) a superb rooftop restaurant ("Fatima 7") serves fusion Mexican/No.African cuisine (personal suggestion: rack of lamb. )|(2) patio eating area adjacent to the bar. Breakfast served 8-11 a.m. (PLEASE NOTE: this is not "continental breakfast, " the one often encounters in the U.S. Here it takes 1+ hours to be serviced, so make sure you take that into account when planning your itinerary. ) Breakfast food and selection of coffees is excellent. Although the price of breakfast is INCLUDED, PLEASE DO NOT FORGER TO TIP the serving staff. Personal favorites: Mexican omlet with black beans and green salsa (spicy), bowl of fresh fruit (locally grown mangos and papaya are picked ripe and taste like nothing we can find back home), quesadillas, and avocado toast (toasted bread with slices of fresh avocado and locally farmed mushrooms.)||OTHER: two small and cool inner courtyards with fountains offer a perfect place to spend a few hours with a book, while the afternoon heat winds down outside.| For desperate shopaholics: there is a small and tasteful boutique at the front part of the building. It offers a small selection of clothes, shoes, and jewelry. ||COST: a bit pricey, but well worth it. ||OVER ALL: we had a very pleasant stay and will be glad to come back. Sincerely recommend to visitors...
