Hotel Vista Marina — Hotel in Sonora

I stayed at Vista Marina Hotel April 28th - May 1st 2024.|It was a total nightmare !||When I arrived they told me the room rate had gone up to $70 a night... which I finally got down to $50 a night.|The 1st room they assigned me, ( #2 ), was filthy, smelled of cigars, and had dead insects and black mold in the bathroom area.|They told me I was a cry-baby "Gringo", and assigned me #12, which had no TV reception and a broken A/C unit.|They also told me there was no internet on the property.||The Hotel is situated in a "Party" area of "Central" Rocky Point, which means there are Loud Cars, Motorcycles, ATVs... and a Nightclub across the street that blares Mexican Music 24 hours a day. This music can be heard 3/4 of a mile away.... which of course means you will get zero relaxing time or sleep, unless you sleep with a folded towel over your ear. This is how I slept for 4 days.|The only saving grace was the amazing restaurants nearby, with the best authentic food you will ever find !|PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from Vista Marine.||But, you will find Rocky Point and its residents the friendliest folk in the World.||Best wishes,...

The worst! They first assigned us room #7. It stunk like a sewer. Then they put us one floor up in room #9. It smelled fine until the office closed and then it stunk like the other room.

They declined to advise us that we checked in that this is the first day of "Bike Week". This hotel sits at ground zero of Bike Week. It was reving engines, smoking tires, drag racing and live head bang music played at max volume until 4am.

We cancelled the second night of our stay and asked for a refund which we had paid in cash. They would only take cash claiming their credit card machine was broken. We were advised they could not give us a refund because there was no money in the office, an interesting claim given their credit card machine was broken and the only way they could sell rooms was cash money.

We found a quiet AirBnB and spent the night there. We came back to Hotel Vista Marina the next morning to find they had rented our room out again for the night we had paid for and they would not refund. This hotel is a horrible place to stay and has crooked...

Perfect! Beach 5 mins or less-walking distance, Food across the street, vendors down the street, Quads across the street. PERFECT!

P.S. We had hot and cold water in shower. weekend nights were loud but we loved it because it gave us courage to go out after we were ready for bed. Went to the bar down the street locals were having a car show with loud music (didn't bother us it looked so cool), we had a hotdog down the street for $1.00 and went to the beach and then back to Hotel it was still noisy but since we did lots of activities ALL day long we passed out from how exhausted we were. Noise didn't bother us since we passed out. They asked if we needed room service but we declined.

For the Price it's Perfect if you are looking for a getaway to Relax and stay in the Hotel most of your stay and order room service than yes definitely look for something else. But if you are looking to have fun and not drive everywhere and able to walk short distance for beach,bars,tacos,etc. Than this is the place...
