El Mariachi Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Sonora

I'm a little weird in that I think french fries should come out crispy golden, not white gelatinous. If you can't get this basic premise down I'm unlikely to be impressed with the rest. I've never sent food back, today I did and they almost got it right.

No dressing on salad, Carlos V was uninspiring.

As you can see from the reply, they missed an opportunity to fix any deficiency in the meal. People that want to produce a quality product would say, I'm sorry you weren't happy, but we'd like an opportunity to show you we can do better. Not El Mariachi. We stopped here for a Wednesday lunch. Overall it was a nice place and the food was delicious with good service.

My main complaint was the pricing. It was American prices - $15-ish per person. It also annoyed me that they add automatic gratuity to parties over 6. We are a family of 7, with 5 of those being kids. Getting slapped with gratuity for kids plates seems unnecessary. And lastly, when I went to pay, I paid in pesos, but they gave my change back in dollars and did so in a manner that disadvantaged me the customer. Based on exchange rates they basically shorted me about 25 pesos.

So if you’re looking for good Mexican food, and you’re not worried about your budget, you’ll probably have a good experience at El Mariachi. Which ironically, despite the name, did not have a mariachi band...

Sat down for brunch 12:15 for 2. The Only customers. Young Lady handed us menus and asked about drinks. He ordered Tecate Red, she pointed to empty bar where 5 bottles were. He says Modelo, she holds up the 1st beer, we repeated MODELO another 2nd, 3rd time she kept pointing to others. I said I'm not staying, lord knows what different food we'd get then ordered. Meanwhile he is Still trying to convey MODELO, so bus boy comes and starts pointing to everything else. We left. *note to selves, this is why the restaurant is always empty and we don't go try it but every FIVE years
