Missing a few small things I'd expect having only been to US hotels (like more than one gel soap pack in the bathroom), and the two-bed setup had both beds pushed up against each other. Also no sprinklers. The bar is not full-service, but it's still decent. US products are (understandably) much more expensive. For example, a Budweiser is 60 Dirhams (about $6). All those caveats aside, the Ibis chain is amazing. I plan to book at least a few more times. The location at Rabat Agdal is also great. It's a two minute walk from the train station. You'll see it as soon as you walk out of the station. Plenty of power plugs. The Wi-Fi is unsecured, but excellent speed. When I checked in, I had 50 Mb/s down and 8.5 Mb/s up. The breakfast is incredible. Definitely worth the 65 Dirhams (about $7). NFC card-tap door entry. You also have to stick your card in a reader inside to access the electrical system for lights or to use the outlets. They do include a block with 2 USB ports, but if you aren't from Europe, you'll still want to bring an adapter. Built-in hair dryer, so no need to bring a converter. Great service. Multi-lingual staff. If you're eating breakfast on your own, don't leave your tray. Someone will take it away. I watched a guy have it happen almost twice because they thought he was finished.
TL;DR Ibis Rabat Agdal is a...
Read moreIt's fine as they go, from a world traveler point of view. Modern, not large rooms but adequate. No gym pool or anything of that kind. A bar but if you don't like smoking you'll not like it for that reason. Smoking is allowed in the bar. Though there is a separate dining area. Staff spoke English well. I appreciated that. A little walk from the main Street where the shops are, maybe 15 minutes. I felt safe walking there in the beaten track. Left out of the reception and then a right at the main junction at the end of that road towards the mosque. You'll Google it I'm sure. Look for KFC and McDonald's on the map and that's the main Street 😊. Cheers and good luck.
Update: Back a second time and a different feel. Poor WiFi, very poor signal. Breakfast was poor, they could not cope with the amount of people I think so most things were gone. I had to find my own name on the list for breakfast. They ask your room number when going to breakfast, which is normal, but then told me to find my name in 6 sheets of paper to sign in. Limited menu to choose from for evening meals. Bar tender wanted to wander around rather than pay attention to guests. Gone down hill to say the least. I'll look for another hotel for...
Read moreThis is a typical Ibis Hotel with smaller rooms and is a minimalistic hotel. They do not give out hot water kettles for use in the room, and there's no safe in the room. Staff there were very stressed and cold to guests. ||||The rooms were rather small with just enough space for luggage. The so-called closet was just a hanging space with three or four hangers. The shower area and toilet however were good and suitable for our use. ||||There was a complication with the booking because we had booked a twin room and they first issued us a double room, had to take the trouble to change to a twin room. ||||The good thing is that it is just a short walk from the Agdall train station where we were going to take a train to Tanger. At the train station you can find shops and restaurants serving good food. It is also relatively close to town and we took a private hire cars most of the time, and found that it was a relatively low cost. Overall a comfortable Hotel with basic amenities and safe place.||||We had buffet breakfast as part of the hotel package. It was good and there is also a restaurant n bar...
