Hotel Grand United (21st Downtown) — Hotel in Yangon

Really nice, really helpful staff who speak good English. Spacious comfortable rooms with excellent amenities (we did get a free upgrade but I can’t imagine the difference is too significant) clean well equipped en-suite bathrooms with great water pressure and lots of hot water. Room has very good air-con.

Lots of free bottled water in your room at the beginning of the stay and resupplied each day; 1.5L per person. Breakfast included, good quality buffet with both western (eggs and bacon) and Asian tastes catered to, fresh coffee with re-fills. Point to note is that the breakfast room is on the roof and offers great views over the city and out towards Shwedagon Pagoda.

Hotel staff provide good travel advice and there is a travel office on the ground floor who booked our night bus north for us. (Slightly higher rate than DIY online but they do print your tickets...

My 3rd time staying here, service was fast and very good! Check-in was fast and quick, Was given anniversary cake due to my request I state on the booking website.|Then we were directed to our room, bed and bathroom beautifully decorated with roses and other flowers, really exceed our expectations. Then on the check-out day, my partner was sick, we call the reception and request to checkout late, they say its okay can check out 3pm with no cost. Im sure is subject to availability but still, they all so nice and really good customer service, I highly recommend this place, its better than other nearby hotels in downtown area of Yangon. You have to love the view that you get during the sunrise and sunset. The food here is also magnificent! I love the soups and the rice and the everything!

That and the free buffet breakfast is enough to justify the excellent price of this hotel. Other than that, the rooms are clean and very well kept with a refridgerator in my room specifically.

The staff were really helpful, they helped me get a new number and register it. They helped me book a bus to Bagan, they provide a very decent service.

The only downside is that the toilets (although clean) smells like sewage at times if you don't turn on the exhaust fans. Not a big problem.
