On entering our room we noticed a strong mouldy/ damp smell- clearly due to mould growing all over the room. I'm sure that damp to this extent is bad for your health. ||||The bathroom was totally disgusting and smelt even worse and we both avoided going in there at all costs. There was an infestation of small flying bugs and the tiles and floor were completely filthy. Every other room we passed seemed to be in an equal state.||||The windows were so thin that it almost seemed like they weren't there as there was no filtering out the busy street noise outside. ||||We both got weird bites during the night. We didn't find bed bugs but something was clearly biting us.||||Only plus sides would be the huge size of the room, the good location and friendly staff.||||Nothing short of gutting this room, fixing the mould problem and fully decorating both bedroom and bathroom would make this fit to stay in. Previous reviews have mentioned this standard is common in Myanmar but we have stayed in cheaper hotels that had new, clean bathrooms. I highly advise you avoid this hotel...
Read moreI give this a 3.5. ||||Location: I like the location, right on the main street. I could walk to lots of attractions. The big pagoda was walkable, but I was tired on the way back so took a taxi. It was $8 to get from the airport to the hotel. There was a convenience store right downstairs, which is perfect. And then of course - lots of street vendors, restaurants, etc. right on that street. ||||Room: I had a single room (which was actually big enough for another bed, they should think about doing that). It was very well equipped: AC was good, there was a TV, fridge, toiletries, coffee/tea. The bathroom didn't have an enclosed shower, which is common. The bathroom was definitely run down, but nothing fell apart. There was a clothes rack and bucket for doing some washing, which I used. Bed was fine, twin bed. ||||Hotel: staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Included breakfast with several options. I like the morning tea in Yangon...
Read moreWe spend our first nights in Myanmar in this hotel. The location is awesome for food and night life and markets and to get to other places. All taxi divers new the hotel. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. One of the other hotel guests had a little accident and the staff acted, quick, professional and efficient. Our room was in the 4th floor I believe. It is a long steep staircase, so you better be mobile and fit, or you will be after your stay. The rooms where clean, spacious and overall alright. The shower was ok, not the greatest but I can´t complain. They had water, a water cooker and coffee in the room. Breakfast was good too. We chose the Myanmar style breakfast. We had a...
