Karma Suites — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

There are times in your life when you find yourself blissfully aware that you are right where you are supposed to be at exactly the right time. You are able to fully realize the moment and appreciate the treasures that a new experience has to offer in a foreign land far from home. Without distraction or disturbance. This is what Rahul's Airbnb expertly offers the traveler to Nepal. Swayambhu is an area deeply rooted in Buddhism and you awaken at Rahul's to the background sountrack of morning worship and the the town coming alive. His place is off of the busy road but directly at the heart of temples, shrines and fun little shops and restaurants. Traditional Nepali food is just steps away and the best coffee shop in town is a just around the corner (get their cookie cake and latte. Amazing!! And the proceeds go to a local orphanage). Safety was a major concern for the group I was with as they had never been to Nepal. At Rahul's (and in Swayambhu) this is not an issue at all. The grounds are secure and the streets filled with friendly smiling faces. Generosity and love are the order of the day here. As for the space itself... it's simply beautiful. Large enough to accommodate 5 people with different schedules, we never seemed to be in each other's way. A fully appointed kitchen was provided for us to make meals or just to reheat the amazing breakfast Rahul provides each day. WiFi is fast and easy to connect to and backup power for electricity outages assure that you never lose connectivity. The furniture is stunning yet comfortable and you truly feel as though you are staying in an immaculately prepared Nepali home. We would start our mornings on the patio watching the monkeys race by en route to swayambhu (which is clearly visible from the front porch). Then make our way to the living room for a day's planning eating the yummy breakfast Rahul provides each morning. Then off to hot showers and counsel with Rahul on what to do and where to go. Rahul is omnipresent but does not get in your way at all. He's there for thoughtful counsel and available at the end of WhatsApp at all times. A kind soul with the interests of his guests at heart, I cannot think of enough good things to say about this man. I know I have met a friend for life. We enjoyed our stay immensely and Rahul and his home truly made our trip a special cultural experience. This spot is 500 rupees cab ride ($5 USD for 5 people) from pretty much anywhere in town and taxis are abundant down by the temple. If you are looking for nightlife and the maniacal bustle of the big city, stay in Thamel. If you want to experience the Nepali culture, meet locals, eat their food and do what they do...stay with Rahul and let him guide you. You will not be...

If there was a 10 star rating option that's what i would give Rahul and his karma suites charming apartments, because that's simply what it deserves.

I'm now finishing my 3rd week in kathmandu, staying in the ground floor apartment of karma suites with 5 other friends. In future we don’t want to take any other place in KTM other than this

It's beautifully decorated with unique tibetan furniture, spacious rooms and common areas, this apartment offers a great ambiance and comfort to it's guests. The house is very well maintained, kitchen and bathrooms are in great conditions. Linens and towels are good quality and often changed. Outside the house there is an external gate separating the public street from the private property. It is very valuable to park your car or bike safely inside the property porch. The apartments are as well located in a prime zone of the city.

Now….. the biggest jewel of this property is it’s host and property owner - Rahul. Rahul is like a diamond. There are actually no words to describe him well enough when it comes to his presence at KSuites..

He is very intelligent and passionate about what he is doing, very attentive towards his guests. His hosting is beyond hosting, he is always willing to help in every situation at any given time. More than that, he has a friendliness quality that is beyond the services that he gives.

Count on him 100 % and that’s what makes this property more special and impeccable.

First and foremost, Rahul is an extremely caring host. He has travelled the world and come back to pursue his passion for hospitality. His passion shows in his interaction with his guests. He takes a personal interest in ensuring the comfort of his guests and always with a smile. He would take care of little details and special requests from us to make us feel at home.

Now about the property, this is a very well decorated and maintained place. The place is designed in such a manner that while you get all the luxuries of staying in a hotel, you also get to know the local culture from the way the place has been furnished and decorated. The place comes with a nicely maintained kitchen, the bathrooms are clean and the bedrooms are also very well furnished. The entire place has a lot of large windows to allow natural light and fresh air. There is ample space for a car park and you feel safe in the place. It is very close to some of the tourist places (actually within walking distance) and quiet at the same time.

Overall, I would love to go back and also recommend this place to anyone visiting Kathmandu.
