This is a more like a guesthouse/home stay rather than a hotel. The facilities in the house are old and the beds are hard. There are only two rooms with shower rooms in the room and is powered by solar panel. Thus if there is no sun in the day time, there will be no hot shower in the evening.
There is a shared bathroom cum shower room on the ground level of the apartment house however as it is an old building, the water system is very out dated and water pressure of the shower can be quite low.
The place is nested in the midst of the local residences and all taxi drivers do not know how to get there. I need to guide the taxi drivers everytime when I need to get back.
It is away from the busy main road and the air is better there. It is a safe place to stay, at night, you will be accompanied by the barkings of the stray dogs and in the morning, you will get to hear the lives of the local community)
Given the price paid, there are other lodgings nearby that could offer better facilities(e.g hot shower in the room).
I must share that the food prepared by the owner and his wife were good and delicious despite having price on the higher side and they are helpful.
Bills are calculated at the end of your stay so if you are staying for more days, do take note of your food intake so that there will be no dispute or issues when you want to pay...

Read moreMy friend and I stayed at the hotel for several nights. The hotel is about 15 minutes' walk from Thamel in a residential area. The walk is fine but take a torch with you if y are returning in the dark as some of the streets outside Thamel are poorly lit. Taxi drivers don't know where the hotel is so you need to give them directions eg it is on the way to the Monkey Temple, past the colourful serviced apartments, etc.||We stayed in room 6 on the top floor for two nights. The advantage of the room is that it is next to the roof terrace, the disadvantage is that when the mornings/nights are cold it doesn't warm up during the day and it has a drop toilet. For the rest of our stay we were in room 3, which is great; very large room with a sitting room area with airmchairs and a table and gorgeous bay windows.||If you don't feel like going out, you can have your meals at the hotel although most the time we had our meals in Thamel.||The family running the hotel is lovely and the younger generation speaks excellent English. ||Their dog, Forrest, deserves a special mention as he is beautiful!||The manager can help book taxis, book bus tickets, etc. However, just bear in mind that you are paying a commission for the...
