Although the lobby staff upon entering here are extremely nice, I wouldn’t say the same for the rest of the hotel. Went today for a coffee at the “Shukrabar” lounge, I would not recommend going there. Upon looking at the menu I found obscene prices for 3-4* hotel, especially for a coffee. Their mocktails were cheaper than the coffee. Anyways, I decided due to being a new property I’d try the coffee out, which they happened to have a decaf option. So I ordered a decaf latte. After 25 minutes my partner and my order finally arrived. But low and behold, I was shocked what got delivered to our table. Two black drinks in hot rum punch style mugs not even coffee cups. Straight away I told the staff I asked for a decaf latte! They told me that latte does not come in decaf. As a firm coffee lover I said it does, it’s just the beans. They hesitated and jumped to a defense saying they can get milk but they have to get it from downstairs just like the coffee and that could take another 15-20 minutes! This left me no option but just to accept the substandard coffee in the hot rum punch glass. But it gets worse, upon drinking the coffee it was instant coffee not even an Americano. It was disgusting and I was shocked how they could mask a machine based coffee with decaf granules. After a terrible, slow and un attentive service from fresh hospitality graduates, I just called for the bill. 1300 npr for 2 “Americanos”(instant coffee) On par with being the same price if not more expensive than many Mecure hotels I’ve stayed at in the U.K. If you’re looking for attentiveness and drinks, the party palace next door probably has better service than this poorly planned hotel.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible Service & Perfect Stay! My stay at Mecure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights was absolutely flawless. The service was incredible every detail was taken care of, and the staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and helpful. The check-in process was quick and smooth, setting the tone for a hassle-free experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service & Unforgettable Dining Experiences My stay at Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights** was nothing short of perfect. The service was outstanding—every staff member was courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The check-in process was swift and efficient, setting a welcoming tone right from the start. Dining Highlights - Sukrabar Restaurant (Top Floor): The ambience was stunning, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. The dining experience matched the breathtaking views, making every meal memorable. - Zaiqa Dining (10th Floor): An absolute gem! The food was exquisite, and the atmosphere added a touch of elegance to the culinary journey. - Breakfast Buffet (Ground Floor): A fantastic spread with a wide variety of delicious options. Fresh, flavorful, and a great way to start the day! From the impeccable hospitality to the outstanding dining venues, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu and will definitely return!

Stayed here for a 4 day event. The teas and instant coffee doesn’t reflect the standard of this hotel chain. Maybe try Suiro teas or coffee of promise. Room itself had an extra bed added and it was awful setup because mobility was pretty narrow. We had buffet food and appetizers and main course was decent but dessert was a disaster. Food is art, baking is instructions and between the dry brownie and cakes and melting ice cream with weird working stabilizers which can’t even keep it cool, it didn’t flow out. The good points however are the staff and housekeeping who are well trained in their jobs and are comfortable around guests. Not in the sense that they try too hard but they’re just humane enough to help and be genuine which was a big plus which supersedes the above cons. Besides that the amenities are good, but I guess they claim to be 5 stars so it’s rather a standard than a standout point.

Absolutely Faultless Stay

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel runs on meticulous care and thoughtful design. The building is spotless—every corridor gleams, every common area feels fresh—and the maintenance is impeccable. Our room was a masterclass in smart planning: clean, comfortable, beautifully laid out, and framed by stunning views of Kathmandu that never got old. Little details (great lighting, practical storage, and a bed you actually look forward to made it feel like home.

Dining is a highlight. There are multiple options on-site, each with consistently high quality and warm service. Whether it was a relaxed breakfast or a more refined dinner, we were spoiled for choice. The rooftop spaces are the showstoppers: a serene pool with panoramic views, a stylish bar perfect for sunset, and a well-equipped gym that actually makes you want to work out. Fast, reliable internet throughout the property made staying connected effortless.

We happened to be there during the Gen Z protests and this is where Mercure Kathmandu truly distinguished itself. The staff were calm, composed, and extraordinarily professional. They put thoughtful safety measures in place—clearly well-planned and discreet—without ever making us feel anxious or confined. They didn’t ignore what was happening outside, but they did everything possible to keep the atmosphere comfortable, normal, and reassuring. Their communication was clear, their empathy genuine, and their attention to our well-being went far beyond expectations.

We’d love to single out specific people, but the truth is every single team member we met was exceptional—from front desk and housekeeping to dining, security, and management. It was a collective effort, and it shows in how seamlessly everything runs even in challenging circumstances. They all deserve recognition.

We would not hesitate to recommend Mercure Kathmandu to anyone. For cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and above all, outstanding service—this hotel is in a...
