Hotel Vajra Inn & Apartments - best hotel in pokhara — Hotel in Pokhara

We had been tricked to stay there and here's the summary:||||1/ We've stayed there for 2 days and paid every bills including car rental, dinner, etc. in Nepali rupees. But at the time of checkout they forced us to pay 1.6 times of the negotiated amount telling us that we have to pay the rent in Indian rupees because they thought we were negotiating in Indian rupees! Why the hell any foreigner want to negotiate anything in Nepal in Indian rupees if they are not Indian or from India?||||2/ Food is generally bad. We've been served rotten foods. They served us what they wanted us to eat, not what we've ordered. Also it takes more than 2 hours for them to cook the food.||||3/ As I said before we've stayed there for 2 days but they didn't bother to clean the room.||||4/ The wifi takes more than 5 minutes to load a website page.||||5/ Odd location. It takes half an hour walk to visit the Phewa lake side shops and restaurants where most of the popular hotels are.||||In conclusion, the experience ruined our family tour. We just took a plane ticket from Pokhara to Kathmandu and left the country by the next flight although we had plans to stay at Kathmandu for 2 days. I've visited more than 8 countries but never faced a ripoff as this one. This thing makes me feel to never visit...

This is my 3rd time staying at the Hotel Vajra Inn. It's located in the Damside area of Pokhara 1 block for the German Bakery and 2 blocks from Damside Park which is a nice place to relax on a sunny afternoon. ||||The hotel is close to the airport and in a more relaxed area than Lakeside but there's no 'nightlife' except taht which you make yourself. They are expanding to 50 rooms and the renovation will be completed by the end of March. The 4th Floor rooms will have the best views of the Himalayan Mountains when they're completed. The 5th Floor sunroof has the best mountain views on a clear day. Alot of tour groups from India and China pass through here so if You're a solo traveller you might feel alone but it does'nt bother me.||||The staff is friendly and helpful and there's always someone around who speaks English. I enjoy the food and eating hours are flexible.||||I'll be back again next October on my way to the Kali Gandaki and they stay here again on my way back to the airport in Kathmandu. During my recent trip to Nepal I was tricked into staying in this joke of a hotel by my travel consultant in Kathmandu. Here's my neutral review.||||Cost - High as it's close to the airport and far from the lake; we paid NPR 7600 for a double and a single room for 2 days(Bed & breakfast). Expensive considering it was off season.||Location - Near the airport close the the damside of the lake; but 3 km. from the actual lake.||Rooms - Large in size with TV and airconditioner.||View - Annapurna and fishtail peak visible from the hotel but only the front 2 rooms on every floor has a view.||Maintenance - Worst possible experience. dirty bedsheet and blankets;cockroaches roaming around. leaking washbasin; untrained staff it had everything going for it.||Food - Bad was the word; I had to order some meals from here as my parents couldn't go out for dinner in December cold.|| We got our room changed after multiple complains; I should have walked out of the hotel but we had already paid advance to the travel agent in Kathmandu.
