Best place to stay in Sauraha / Chitwan national park visit. You will feel calm and relaxed unlike other crowded tourist places. It's on the riverside and you can easily spot crocodiles, ghariyal, deer and something rhino from the river bank itself. The owner is very helpful and he will arrange everything including Jeep safari, jungle walk , canoeing. Canoeing is a very different experience and this is a must. You won't get this kind of experience in another place. You will go through a beautiful river and lush full greenery around you with various wild animals and birds. If you are a nature lover, full day safari is recommended. You will get three options, 2 hours, 4 hours and a full day.
Now come to the food, you won't get luxury here. Here you'll get very limited options. Most of them will offer only similar to thakali khana which is literally rice, lintels, potato fry, saag, pickle, salad and sometimes chicken or mutton curry. Don't expect a variety of food like India. Even restaurants here offer very limited options. But this shouldn't be the obstacle to visiting this beautiful one π.
Loved my visit here on both...
Β Β Β Read moreWe stayed at the Chitwan Tiger Camp for 3 nights in late November. The location is excellent β right in the heart of the departure points for many of the local safari and river trips β yet relatively quiet at night once the dayβs activity subsided. The accommodations were very good and comfortable. The food ranged from very good for the Nepali and Indian type items, to a bit strange for some of the Western-type items on the menu (for example, βgarlic toastβ was 2 pieces of white bread with the crust trimmed off and chopped up raw garlic in between the slices). Staff at the Tiger Camp are extremely helpful and accommodating. Everyone from the manager to the dining and housekeeping staff bent over backwards to be sure we had good experiences and had what we needed. Most outstanding were the guides arranged by the Tiger Camp to take us on jungle walks and river trips. The guides are exceptionally knowledgeable about the many many species of birds, plants and mammals in the park. We are amateur birders and appreciated the deep knowledge and abilities of the guides to see as much...
Β Β Β Read moreI have been staying at this hotel for one day, and I must say they are one of the biggest frauds when it comes to visiting Chitwan. The food here is completely overpriced and not worth itβthey charge NPR 500 for lunch and dinner, which is of very poor quality. Additionally, they overcharge for activities. For example, tickets for places like: Tharu Cultural Dance Elephant Breeding Center Jeep Safari Elephant Ride Canoeing Museum
usually cost around NPR 125-150 per person, but this hotel charges NPR 400-500 per person, which is clearly a fraudulent business practice.
The hotel staff are also very unprofessional. It took them 30 minutes just to fix the Wi-Fi and AC in my room. I spent NPR 24,000 for four people for one night and half a day, including the activities mentioned above, which were far more expensive than they should have been.
I strongly recommend that anyone visiting Chitwan avoid staying at this hotel and do not take their package deals for rides or activities.
Thank you! I hope my experience makes you think twice before...
