Great value in a super location.
We got lucky finding this place. It's at the bottom of the street a minute or so walk to the river that separates the national park from the rest of Nepal. It's likely you'll be eating down by the river every evening like most of the other tourists (views across the national park and distant mountains, peaceful ambience and bbq - it's just great down there so being just a little off from there is ideal). We got a newly refurbished ground floor room for 1500 Nepalese rupee - a really good price (other more expensive rooms available - they have a good selection). Location of rooms - back from the street - it's quiet. Room size was good, furnishings and bedding in great condition, bathroom clean with plenty of space, hot water always flowing. The place has indoor and outdoor eating areas, a large garden with recliners, umbrellas and shaded 'pavilions' looking out over the river. We spent a very relaxing day taking it easy under the shade of one of the trees, enjoying a drink and meal. The sizzling buff steak I had was excellent. Breakfast meal also good.
The manager there was outstanding in looking after our needs. Attentive and very friendly. The first evening he knocked on our door to let us know a rhino was walking down the main street, the second early evening to let us know a slough bear was walking across the grounds! He sorted out a wifi issue for us, freely offered wall plug adaptors, insisted on giving us new towels when he saw us drying our towels outside the room after a shower, organised the purchase of our bus tickets back to Katmandu and transport to the bus station. What more can you ask for? I have no hesitation in highly recommending this place. Great value in a...

Read moreWell, we arrived in Chitwan and our bus dropped us here, turns out we didn't book the place but the staff were very understanding and we managed to get enough rooms for 18 people very quickly. Well done on that alone. ||||THe food is good but takes a while to arrive. I would recommend the veg spring roll and chocolate crepes as forerunners. Taste amazing. ||||The wifi is not very good and the showers have very limited hot water as they are solar powered so best to have a shower early/late afternoon if you like hot water. Also one afternoon we came back to find red ants all over our bed and had to kill them before bed so that was interesting. ||||Rooms are comfortable and provide good views. I absolutely love the back garden, amazing views of the river where animals are often seen drinking. On our second night, we even saw a rhino in the back yard, just munching away on some grass. He is said to be a regular visitor with his son. Very cool and something you don't get to experience at other places. ||||The staff are also very nice and welcoming, you will be treated very well here, just be aware they do not speak very much English. ||||I think this is good value for money and I might recommend it to others...
