I had such high hopes for this hotel but the management let us down tremendously leading to an extremely uncomfortable stay they ruined the end of our holiday.
We booked the deluxe glamping tent and were initially happy with our accommodation. We did notice that on arrival staff were very ‘chill’, this later on became frustrating as it meant that they were very slow and actually quite lazy when it came to completing requests. At one point I was unable to buy water as the man in the restaurant was fast asleep at the till.
I wish I could leave the review at that however, on our second day we were told that we would have to vacate our room for our last night due to a double booking error on their behalf - obviously we weren’t pleased about this. I get that these things can happen but the way in which it was dealt with was just utterly disgraceful. We booked a safari which the manager recommended would be better to do in the afternoon, this meant we were at the hotel all morning and so if they needed to switch our rooms this would have been a good time to do so. We departed for our safari not having moved rooms. When we arrived to our safari the manager called our driver and said that we needed to move our bags - we were obviously out at this point and made it very clear that we were not comfortable with them moving our things if we were not there. This was so unprofessional especially as the manager knew we would be on a safari in the afternoon and even walked passed us in the morning without mentioning anything about moving rooms. When we returned from the safari we had an extremely awkward encounter where we had to be thrown out of our room in front of the people who we had been double booked with. This was extremely uncomfortable for us and would have been for the other couple as well. The worst thing is that we got moved to one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed it - the toilet wouldn’t work, we weren’t given clean bedding, we had to use mattress toppers as sheets as these weren’t provided and the room was infested with mosquitoes.
This stay literally turned into a nightmare. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews like I was, just go somewhere else closer to the river so that you can fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings Chitwan has to offer.
(I also waited an hour and a half for a inedible meal that gave me food poisoning for the...

Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Tharu Garden in Sauraha, and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is beautifully situated among lush gardens and greenery, which gave me a sense of peace and escape from the bustle. The tent-style/glamping rooms are charming and comfortable, and they added a nice touch of adventure while still providing essential amenities such as hot water, air conditioning, and clean bedding.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. They helped arrange jungle safaris and suggested good spots for wildlife and bird-watching. The dining experience was pleasant: the food had good variety and was tasty, especially when dining outdoors in the garden.
Of course, there were a few minor inconveniences. Some parts of the bathroom could use better maintenance — for example, a leaky faucet or patchy water pressure. A few of the rooms are a bit near shared walls, so noise from nearby rooms is noticeable at times. Because it is a nature-oriented location, expect occasional bugs or insects — which is reasonable given the setting, but something to keep in mind.
Despite these small issues, I think the hotel offers great value for what you pay. If you like peaceful surroundings, jungle access, and good service, this place is a solid choice. I would...
