I booked this property because I saw many good reviews, but I left it with a conflict with a host. The reason for this is the fine print that was not written anywhere but later was mentioned upon arrival. For example, don't use a shower for more than 5-10m, if you use the kitchen you have to pay 50-100 NRS depending on how much gas you will use. The kitchen was available in the reservation, but not available upon arrival, not really. I had to ask permission for using it every time, as half of the necessary tools were not available. The rooms were cold, the shower was cold, except from 12-19h when the solar panel would heat the water, provided it was not a clouded day. The room is clean enough, provided you don't look at it closely, especially in the shower. You may see a rhino under the house, but pictures are misleading, as hosts took them in a specific way, which will make you believe that the house is within safari, which it is not. The host will treat you like a cash machine, trying to get some extra money from you at every turn. This is also why it is good to check other places for booking a trip at the safari. Overall, if you are planning to have a very short stay (1 or 2 days) during the warm season and you are planning to use minimum amenities, you are unlikely to have a problem. However, prepare to have some issues especially if your stay is even a...

Read moreThis is the only place I’ve given five stars since I started leaving reviews, but Prakash and his family deserve the rating.
The location was fantastic, only a 5-7 min walk away from the cafes, restaurants & shops but nestled in a quiet corner of the town, where rhinos genuinely do saunter by now and again! 🦏 (Prakash will remind you to give them space).
Crucially, it’s also on the same road as the river departure point for all of the Chitwan safaris, and if you organise any tours via Prakash, you’ll get a lift on a motorbike if you need it.
The whole family were lovely and friendly, the breakfasts were great and my ensuite room (a twin room) was spacious and came with a mosquito net and a decent ceiling fan that kept the room cool. Incredibly good value as well, I paid the equivalent of £4.45 for my room p/n.
Bikes are available to hire, giving you the chance to get out to various Tharu villages, go birdwatching or visit the excellent Stand Up 4 Elephants French/Canadian/Belgian-run sanctuary.
Prakash knows loads about birds, gave me plenty of safari & wildlife walk advice whether I did or didn’t book through him, and also was relaxed about taking payment.
Really one of the best stays of my whole 5 week...
